I am assuming Trent (17m) + Dragic (19m) for Zinger (31m) + Ballast + Assets ?

People need to stop this, guys like DeMarcus Cousins or DeAndre Jordan or *insert former all star past their prime C" are looking for win now opportunities not to go to treadmill teams which is what we are.Scottie4Bro wrote:
Why in the world didn't we take a flyer on Cousins this season? We desperately needed a real big man and Cousins is clearly talented. It feels like Masai is deliberately not looking to acquire one due to the experiment.

paper wise it will be a wash tbh.
Porzingis isn't some ISO super hero. still have the same problems with players able to get their own on a consistent basis.
i mean would the starting lineup would look like this:
FVV
OG
Barnes
Siakam
KP
but offensively, there aren't many great ISO players that can "get theirs"

We are a bad team right now, it's clear that Anunoby and Fred VanVleet are clearly missed especially Freddy with his shooting from three. As for Cousins Denver is a good fit they have a legit MVP in Jokic I don't see a lot of teams lining up for him but I think Toronto wasn't one of the teams on his list. Guys like Jordan and Cousins are past their hayday but in short minutes they are still decent and can always give you 6 fouls per gameLos_29 wrote:Mr Swagtastic wrote:People need to stop this, guys like DeMarcus Cousins or DeAndre Jordan or *insert former all star past their prime C" are looking for win now opportunities not to go to treadmill teams which is what we are.Scottie4Bro wrote:

Are they? They've been bouncing around the league and would sign with any team that offered them a contract. The reason why we weren't in on either guy is because they are well past their prime, get cooked on defense and simply aren't good players at this point in their career. Didn't Deandre just get waived by a team trying to make the playoffs?
Cousins signed with Denver. Does anyone think they can win without Murray and MPJ? Did he sign with them to win a ring this year or to just stay in the league?
Also, how would you define a treadmill team? Are teams that are really young and are above .500 a treadmill team? Is there no in between? You can only be an awful team or an elite team?

I wasted to ask since Imhave rad the Raps might entertain a retool this off season if OG is off limits? If not would a package centered around PWill & an FRP be enough to get the convo started?
Lastly, how well does OG defend 4's with his length, lateral movement, and quickness?
I'd even be tempted to do something like this:Madhouse wrote:MalagaBulls wrote:Morning all, Bulls fan in peace. I have posted here before and have exchanged some trade ideas with your forum. I doubt he is off limits. But at the same time, I don't know if Toronto and Chicago are good trade partners. Toronto, unless there is a change of strategy this offseason, will not rebuild and Anunoby is not old and under contract until 2024. Maybe there is a change of strategy this offseason and maybe they do value PW (in this case I would guess in a package with AD) as a future star (I would believe they value him because he fits what they are usually looking for) but at this point I think it would be unlikely and Toronto would much rather package Anunoby for an immediate upgrade.
His calling cards are his versatility and his perimeter defense. You can put him on PFs as he is a strong, physical player but he isn't some rim protector and I would much rather use him as a wing stopper. But he has been defending big men about 30-35% of the time this year and done a decent job, so you can use him that way.

I would love OG as he could step in as our 4 and guard most 4's with his athletism, length, & lateral movement.Morris_Shatford wrote:MalagaBulls wrote:Morning all, Bulls fan in peace. While I tend to think that OG may be the guy moved to address some positional fit issues eventually;
I am not sure if Masai and Co opt to deal OG till the FVV and GTJ situations are resolved. Both guys can opt out next summer, whereas OG is on a pretty reasonable deal for two more full seasons.
In theory, if you lose FVV and GTJ (unlikely yet possible) next summer and you are somewhat forced into a rebuild I would imagine you could get a pretty respectable building package for OG rather than moving now for a re-tool package.
As for PWill and FRPs, I think you are in the ballpark value-wise;
The issue for the moment is how do you play OG, Siakam and Barnes at the same time, I think a PWill / OG swap creates a similar discussion if PWill continues to develop.
