They're in asset preservation mode.

Harden's career FG% is 44%, so Tobias's 4 for 10 in that instance has him making just 4 fewer shots than Harden out of every 100.

You just made a generalizing comparison between Tobias Harris and a top 5 scorer in NBA history.

You're on timeout for 24 hours.

Harden implicitly made the comparison by quoting Harris's FG percentage himself. What he should've said was "Tobias shot 4 for 10 -- hey, not bad -- that means if he continues that he'll make just four fewer shots than me out of every hundred."

The moral of the story: if Harris took as many shots as Harden and played as long, he'd be a top-five scorer in NBA history, too.

The comical part is that you probably seriously believe that.

I also believe that Ben Simmons, as a career 56.0% from the field is a better scorer than Michael Jordan (49.7%), Kobe Bryant (44.7%) and Kevin Durant (49.6%). He just spares them by not shooting as frequently.

The guy who never met a positive point about Tobias Harris he didn't want to confront, even one grounded in simple math.

He's certainly a more efficient scorer than them. The question is whether a team can generate the types of shots Simmons takes at Jordan/Bryant/Durant volume. If it can and he plays long enough, he'll most certainly score more points than they did. Again, simple math.

I don't believe Simmons will ever be a prolific scorer and I don't believe Tobias Harris will be a top-five scorer in league history. However, that doesn't mean James Harden should have something negative to imply about 4 for 10 shooting, especially when lots of Harris's shots nowadays are intended to space the floor and benefit Harden.

Yeah there was more to the post than that. But when you snip it off like that it looks like I was making a mundane point devoid of the other less mundane content. Mission accomplished for you I suppose?
