We already have 11 picks. I would be surprised if we drafted that many guys.

I only like the idea of trading down with one of our firsts if it leads to a 2023 first

I realize we have 11 picks, but 3 of those are 7th rounders...i think the draft is deep at WR..Use one of the 1st on BPA between WR, Dline, Oline, and if that other 1st nets you an early to mid 2nd and a 2023 1st or you get multiple picks in round 1-4 thats what id like to see....then use some of those later picks and move up and you can maybe come out of this draft with 2-3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Dline, 1 Oline, 1 Edge rusher and a DB in the first 4-5 rounds would be pretty exciting...i think the value in this draft is in that 2nd and 3rd round but what do i know

Re: 2022 NFL Draft discussion
Lot of intriguing WRs in this draft and I'd love to see us use a 1st and a 2nd on the position. I've liked Watson for a while but Metchie is super interesting as a 2nd round pick. Great separation at the LOS and downfield. He definitely strikes me as a guy who Rodgers will quickly learn to love.

You are the first person I have seen that called for Metchie. I know nothing about him but he seems like just a 'meh' guy based on how people talk about him.
But who knows, sometimes guys just get slept on because they are normal human size and don't run a 4.3

I am EXTREMELY interested in Jelani Woods from Virginia. Former QB (I believe)
Height: 6'7″
Weight: 252
40 time 4.61
Vertical: 37.5 inches
Broad: 10'9″
Shuttle: 4.22
Three-cone: 6.91
Those numbers are bananas.

Been taking him in a lot of my mocks the past month. He'd be a great pickup here.

It sounds like the Packers brass was pretty “chummy” with Woods either at the combine or at his pro day.
He’d be a great successor to Lewis.

I honestly don't know why he can't be the first off-ball linebacker taken.

It's not a position the Packers need but I wouldn't be surprised at all if they grabbed him. Insane RAS testing, only 21. He fits the Packer mold

Doesn't have to be a 1 for two swap. Can add later picks.
For example could trade #22, #92, #132, and #171
with SEA for #40 and #41.

Woods has as much upside as any TE in the draft. But his floor is not high.
He doesn't block well.
He doesn't have good hands.
He doesn't run good routes.
Those are teachable things, but they suggest he might not be a good choice if you want him to contribute soon.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft discussion
I ran the simulator again, and ALL of the players I wanted to pick in the first round were taken before they dropped to me. So I traded down repeatedly (the trades were initiated by the other team). I got this. I like the list of players, though I ended up taking 3 CBs, which is a bit many.

A terrible idea, possibly encouraged by a bad model for trades in the simulator?
The only way that would work out is if the other team badly overestimated how good they were going to be next year. If they value their next-year's FRP as the 16th, say, and they are so terrible they'd never pick later than 6th. But most teams aren't that stupid, and even if they are, regression to the mean would move them closer to the middle of the pack.
It's like suggesting we trade Aaron for Pat Mahomes and Travis Kelce; the Chiefs would never do that.

It's only an example, but it actually is in the pack's favor. If you don't like that one, here's another option:
#22 and #132 to Detroit for #34 and #66
