Thats the role of his position.![]()
In the scheme his role is to shoot threes. That is why I keep telling you all are wasting time talking about Strus can do other things when that role gives very little oppurtunities to do other thangs on offense besides shooting 3s.
There are other ways to get 3pters besides DHOs.
C'mon man, stop baiting me these emoji-filled low-efforts posts. You're better than that.
Yes there are other ways in general to got open threes. But you have to look at the personal of this team. You want this team to be a drive and kick team. That is not this teams make up. Jimmy, Bam and Lowry are not pick n roll or drive and kick players. Herro may be the only player who is more fitted as a pick n roll drive and kick player on this team. This is not a team made up of Dragic, Waiters, and James Johnson who thrived at drive and kicking out. Lowry, Bam and Butler are the distributors of this team. Lowry has never been a drive and kick dominate passer. He has always been a halfcourt post passing point guard. Lowry has never been a pressure pressure the rim off the dribble from the top of the key player. He has been a director of offense of cuts and post players.
Sorry if emoji's are a trigger for you
Just a reminder you guys where I stand. At the start of the season I told you I wanted Less reliance on Duncan shooting threes. I wanted Bam to take fg attempts from Duncan. I wanted Bam, Herro and Butler to be more scorers than passer this year. I got it from Herro (taken Dragic and Olynyk attempts), Butler did so early then lately reverted back to overpassing, and Bam you know the issues with Bam overpassing.
My goals for this team was Bam, Herro to average 15 shots or more a game. And those shots would be taken from the position Strus and Duncan plays. In order for this team to win a chip all three must be taking a higher portion of the teams shots.
Heat got ran out of the playoffs last year because the bucks decided to lock down on Duncan and dare Bam to beat them. The key to beating the Heat should not be to lock down Duncan. What do you think will happen in the playoffs if the opponnent decides to use the same strategy and lock down Strus and dare Bam to shoot? When Bucks put Middleton on Strus and Holiday on Butler? You think Strus is gonna bring out the ball handling bag on Middleton or Thybulle?
