Aside from historical numbers like averaging a triple double for the year, or a runaway 65+ win season, it's going to take winning games like this and having a memorable performance doing so to get the award. It's how Iverson was able to get it when he won it, although that award quite possibly should have gone to Shaq that year.

Do these advanced stats voters even watch the games?

Not enough to justify having a vote. Most of them just follow whatever Zach Lowe says instead of doing the work to form an opinion on their own.

Its really a close race and all 3 of them have been awesome this season, but i think Giannis is clearly the best player in the league and Jokic has historic stats while playing without another star and nearly the same record.
