Head to head amongst the tied teams comes before Conference record. Charlotte would be 4-3, We're 3-3 & Atlanta is 3-4, so a 3 way tie would break in that order.

Boston would win a tiebreaker against Milwaukee, but I think it's unlikely that Milwaukee loses 1 and Boston wins @Memphis. Boston would also hold the tiebreaker over Philly, so for them to flip, Philly needs to win out (back to back at home vs Indy & Detroit) & Boston would need to lose @Memphis. It's more realistic for Philly to sneak up to #3 than Boston to get back to #2.

Three-Team Tiebreaker:
1. Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division)
2. Best head-to-head winning percentage among all teams tied
3. Highest winning percentage within division (if teams are in the same division)
4. Highest winning percentage in conference games
5. Highest winning percentage against playoff teams in own conference
6. Highest point differential between points scored and points allowed

We hold tie breakers when all things compared. So if ATL/BK/Cha all tied up we be higher seeded.

I think you misinterpret #1

it isnt "best division record" its if you won the division or not. a division winner would have the tiebreaker over non-division winners. none of the teams in the play-in race won their divisions. so it starts with #2 for our scenario.

#3 states what TheNetsFan is saying... that division record doesnt apply since nets/haws/hornets are not all in the same division

Exactly. #1 means if the Central Division winner was tied with the 2nd best team in the Atlantic division, the Central Division winner wins the tiebreaker.

You dont play Giannis 1 on 1. You use your big to impede him and give him space. Defending Giannis is really about avoiding turnovers and not allowing him to get out in transition. Drummond did a fantastic job on him the last 2 games and Nick seems more physical this year how he played embiid/giannis recently.

The guy we need to worry about is middleton. if he plays well, we lose. Gianns will get 40/10. live with it. dont let their shooters go off and dont let middleton get hot. Kyrie has played middleton well.

I would rather send a double team to force the ball out of Middleton's hands as opposed to even devote more than one person to Giannis.

I have said this repeatedly: I would let Giannis score sixty and keep defenders glues to Middleton, Holiday and Lopez. Same strategy with Embiid. Let these guys gas themselves out scoring on contested twos. They aren't hurting you any other way. I would absolute let Drummond defend him and stick KD on Brook.

Agree. Limit turnovers but play him straight up, no easy baskets for Giannis and let him tire himself out in the half court trying to create/bully. Helps limit his defensive impact as well.

Prok, as usual, always twisting things around.

That tweet hasn't confirmed it, its just the media story that is out there. I know for a fact both are not vaccinated. It is also why they didn't travel to Toronto.

Typically guys out sick or with a rest/minor injury travel with the team. they didnt. typically teams will definitively say guys are vaccinated, celtics have continued to decline. but i know from someone who has 1st hand knowledge neither are vaccinated.

Heat beat the Hawks. So who should we want in a one game play-in? My gut says Cleveland even with Allen back.

Agree. Give me cleveland. Atlanta is too explosive and our defense plays too stupid to not give up 120. we would need to outscore them, which we can, but its a coinflip.

Cleveland we could beat without having to score 120.

we could lose to either though, we are playing awful basketball right now

tiebreaker scenarios...

4-way tie:
Nets 6-4 combined head to head
Hornets 6-5 combined head to head
Atlanta 6-5 combined head to head
Cavs 4-8 combined head to head

Nets 30-22 conference record
Hornets 27-25 conference record
Hawks 26-26 conference record
Cavs 26-26 conference record

3-way tie:
Hornets 4-3 combined head to head
Nets 3-3 combined head to head
Atlanta 3-4 combined head to head

2-way tie:
we top cleveland, atlanta
Charlotte tops us

i believe the only way we can drop out of a 7 or 8 seed would be if we lose and the other 3 all win. that would put cleveland 1 game ahead in the 7 seed and we would lose the 3-way tiebreaker with atlanta and charlotte.

This guy is so full of ****. He just lies and then plays the race card when he is wrong and he’s wrong a lot!! He’s done it on this board here with his Own posters. He’s a middle aged white guy who goes on the Internet and preaches these soliloquy’s telling actual minorities and people of color what they should be outraged at etc and what is and isn’t racist - tell me that ain’t a form of white privilege.

I’m a minority, and it’s really gross and offensive how often you want to play the race card. You constantly use it as a defensive mechanism whenever someone from Boston talks to you even when it is completely unrelated to the topic at hand. It’s straight offensive.

Simply stated, we win the tiebreaker in a 4 way tie and a 3 way tie with Cleveland and Atlanta. We lose any 3 way tiebreaker that has Charlotte in it.

I don't think Boston will beat Memphis, but if they do and the Bucks lose to the Cavs and we beat Indy, we get Cavs in the play-in and Boston ends up as the two.

That's what we hoping for. Going to troll Saltic board hard right after we spank them.

Getting Ben for Bucks series will be confidence booster too

Very well laid out. Atlanta needs the most help to get to the 7-8 game. It's most likely Nets vs Cleveland or Charlotte.

Looks like a rest day for Memphis. There's a chance we can have a first round matchup with Boston.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
