If Nash keeps catching Ben sharing laughs with Blake like in that Twitter video, then his PT/rotation spot could be in danger.

Our defense needs a perimeter lockdown defender + he can push the pace a la Bruce Brown.
I think Ben needs to take the shots the defense gives him. None of that scared bull.
IDC if he shoots under 20%, but I need him to stay aggressive and keep shooting until he becomes comfortable.
Not expecting him to be a 40% 3pt shooter, but if he can be around 30% it would make a world of difference.

He shouldn't take any 3's, just take some mid range shots to keep defense honest.

I disagree. He needs to take the Bruce Brown very wide open 3s.

Bruce Brown is a better shooter and he is definitely more confident. He laso shoots a corner 3, Simmons is not gonna have that as a point guard. It would be detrimental for his shaky confidence to force him to shoot 3's, that's too much out of his comfort zone. But any NBA perimeter player has to be able to take and occasionally make an open mid range shot. Opponents will definitely dare him and if he refuses to shoot at all, it will be a huge problem. Simmons is a huge question mark and this Nets move is the last chance to save his career.

Well, we have shooters but the coaching here is even worse

They are probably on the same level, hard to say who’s worse

Flashes to the middle when our guys get trapped. Push it like crazy in transition and find shooters. His life will be easy whether he decides to take jumpers or not.
His problem in Philly was that they actually needed him to do more. When they lost Jimmy, they actually needed him to step up and be a primarily ball handler. They needed him to step up and take jump shots. Philly topped out as 8th in offense in the Simmons era. Last year we were the best offense of all time. This year with Kyrie + KD on the floor, our offense is ridiculous with an OFFRTG of 122+. That would be the best offense in the league by a WIDE WIDE margin. Totally different situations.

He is a seamless fit. Simmons floor is like the best version of bruce brown on steroids... like a 6'10" brown with Rondos passing and the leagues best wing defense
He can play point guard to minimize his shooting. be inthe dunker spot when KD/Kyrie have the ball. as you said we have all the shooting around him needed.
He is getting criminally slandered as some offensive zero. he has Lebron level passing/playmaking ability and is a mismatch nightmare vs bigs and smalls. you need to defend him with a big/athletic wing, and that guy is usually already guarding KD.
This a guy who despite bad distance shooting is 56% for his career with 59% TS% for his career. so despite his lack of shooting and poor FT shooting he still scores pretty efficiently. And is heavily positive offensive metrics year over year and career.
issues come when he is asked to be a go-to scorer or play too much off ball. Nets can have Kyrie/KD handle the ball in late game fouling situaitons so Ben doesnt go to the FT line and space him with shooters.
there isnt a better fit for ben then here
