We need defensive dogs.
It's why Eason or Daniels should be the pick at #10.

Prior to the 2019 draft, I never saw a single analysis nor even one mock draft that had Rui going as high #9 or going before Brandon Clarke.
But, I'd say it's false praise to vindicate this board -- there was pretty much 100% applause here for us picking Rui.
Nah. Nonplussed and underwhelmed mostly. Link. But people like to give you hell because the board was being spammed on the topicThen as always once a player is ours fans bend reality to look at the bright side.

Kevin Broom's YODA rated Hachimura as the 5th best prospect....
False. Yoda had Clarke higher than ruipayitforward wrote:doclinkin wrote:payitforward wrote:Prior to the 2019 draft, I never saw a single analysis nor even one mock draft that had Rui going as high #9 or going before Brandon Clarke.

From the page you link to:Kevin Broom's YODA rated Hachimura as the 5th best prospect....
All you need to know about YODA....

That means that signing Jokic as a free agent is out. We will have to commit to Unseld's plan of having Zingus play more like Jokic. Unclear if this plan also involves Beal playing more like Jordan, and Rui and Deni playing more like Kawhi and Luka Doncic.
Selfishly, I hope Philly and Utah also get bounced - they would both possibly want Beal if they crash and burn in the playoffs.

See. I told you YODA was awesome.Jay81 wrote:False. Yoda had Clarke higher than ruipayitforward wrote:From the page you link to:Kevin Broom's YODA rated Hachimura as the 5th best prospect....

Not many teams have the shooting and playmaking at other positions to allow them to get away with a 6-2 guy who can't create his own shot or shoot all that effectively as a catch and shoot guy. It takes a heck of a lot of playmaking from Draymond, and floor spacing from Steph, Klay, Porter, Poole and Wiggins, to open up the back door cuts that allow a 6-2 role player to tally 55 dunks in 1200 minutes of action.

Moreover, it was followed by an endless reaffirmation of that judgement & an equally endless disparaging of Clarke. Which went on for years, btw. With a couple of notable exceptions, me being the most notable.
Of course... everyone makes mistakes! I make plenty of them. But it's rare to see anyone acknowledge his mistakes.
For example, you can be absolutely certain that there won't be a parade of posts in which people say something like "I sure was wrong about Brandon Clarke." No chance that happens.
So, no, I don't think this board is particularly adept at ranking draft prospects.

...the board has a pretty-good record vs the draft moves the Wizards have made...
