Kings coaching search
According to James Ham on the radio today....
Vivek seems to like Jackson, the front office likes Brown.
So guess we will see what happens. Should be noted the Kings GM McNair will be a lame duck this year if they are not extended.

Maybe I'm forgetting something but I don't remember his back being the thing keeping him from playing in Philly. First we heard of it this year was that he had a setback ramping up once he got to Brooklyn right?

On that note, I had an idea to start and host a podcast to leverage the expertise/passion/insight of posters on here. It wouldn't necessarily be affiliated with Realgm, just an independently produced podcast with a regular stream of guests who post on here and have done so consistently for years.
I just feel the collective group of posters on here are as good as, if not better, than high profile formal NBA broadcasters discussing NBA potential and actual transactions along with hypothetical trades. I have lots of ideas for show topics that are unique but would welcome others.
Would anyone be interested in taking part?. There would be certain criteria for eligible guests from this board as I can only manage a finite number so the more senior guys/girls, mods, etc. Id look to join.
I’d be up for something occasionally, though keep in mind I’m Australian so that might mess with any schedules

So as one of the very few posters who said we need to not make reckless assumptions about Simmons because we are in our feelings.....

I’m pretty sure he mentioned his back once he retuned to the 76ers to stop the per game fines.
I don’t have a link or anything to prove it though.

What does everyone think Harden will get contract wise?
There is no chance he gets a Max, right?

In theory, something based around this is possible because the Grizzlies have so much cap space:
Raptors - Bane, 15-20M player to Raptors from team X
Grizzlies - Siakam
Team X - Steven Adams
and the Grizz sign a center for the full MLE and bring back Tyus Jones so he and Melton can be the 2nd and 3rd guards, along with lots of Dillon Brooks at the 2, as he splits time with Zaire at the 3, with Siakam and JJJ at the 4 and 5 backed up by Clarke and the MLE center. Maybe Memphis trades up in the draft with their 2 late first rounders to go after someone who can play the 3 pretty quickly, either via trade or by moving up to try to get Sochan or something.
Where's the D?

The Grizzles aren't trading Bane for Siakam. Bane is there long term 2 like Klay is to Curry.

Neither team does it. Imagine having an 18/4/3, 23 year old wing with 2 years, 6 million left on contract and trading him for a fringe all-star.

Adams routed to Indy with Ziaire Williams, and Indy sends Myles Turner to Toronto?

He's likely making his 2nd all nba team. That's not a fringe all star

Hmm I do have Bane as being worth Siakam considering age and contract. Not as high on him? Not saying it's right direction for Raps but I can see it.

I dont see him as an all star, let alone all nba player. He's like a bigger Seth curry or more athletic joe harris/duncan robinson to me. Elite 3 pt specialist, who is passable on defense unlike the above 3. Valuable for sure, but not nearly enough for top 15-20 players in the league regardless of salary.

You don't see Klay Thompson? I mean he's an elite 3 point sniper with size on defense. Klay was top 15 player for 2-3 years.
This is a comparison of stats between Bane this year at 23 and Klay when he was an All-star and All-NBA player at 24.

Seems pretty similar to me. Defense is not counted for here but I'd say that they are similar.

I think klay is overrated and have these accolades because of the team success.. His TS that year was 59 percent. Seth Curry and joe harris shot lot more efficiently than both of them.

Despite being very likely to make All-NBA Third team this season, it's Pascal is still really underrated. My post was more to describe the archetype of a player I felt would pair well with Ja Morant. If the Grizzlies could manage to get him for Bane and Williams, they should take that and run. I hope Masai wouldn't do that personally.

I think a bane / siakam framework make sense in terms of value that once you added some pieces , it can be a trade that work for both side .
Unfortunately I think both side prefer their own player.
