The flashes of scoring moves, passing, and defense just make him seem like the perfect guard to swing on. He'll need time to develop, but knowing he will compete and be a positive at times defensively makes me worry less about Thibs burying him in the long run.
And man is AJ Griffin's defensive tape disturbing. He's so slow footed I can't imagine seriously trying to have him defend NBA caliber wings. He'd have to guard 4's and he's 6'6. I know people believe he can gain back some of the athleticism he lost from injuries, but I'd hate to be the team taking that chance.

I don't see it with Griffin either, just don't get why he's mocked to go so high. Do not want. Watching Duke Mark Williams stood out a lot more than Griffin imo. If we're planning on letting Mitch go, I wouldn't be mad at taking him. He shot an insane 72% yamming everything he can. Excellent defender. Great size and length, legit 7 footer with 7' 7" wingspan?!Athletic. There's a lot to like there.

Being overlooked for us. gimme this guy to develop into our starting 2 guard with RJ at the 3. Like him even with Grimes on our team cause he has way more of the dribble scoring ability. Love his defensive intensity too. Grimes can be our 3 and D guy off the bench a la Cam Johnson. If we ever run a small ball lineup in small minutes, you can have Davis, Grimes, and RJ at the 2,3,4.

I got it as a set top 12, but a top 11 isn’t as inaccurate as you would think.. In no particular order
Jabari
Paolo
Chet
Ivey
Keegan
Sharpe
Sochan
Duren
Davis
Mathurin
Dyson
AJ Griffin
I think Sochan and Duren are both going higher than expected and I see AJ Griffin falling down further than expected.

I'm referring to the league always making sure the Knicks are 1 spot from the top rumored talent in the draft.

I'll gladly take a rotation of RJ, Grimes, Cam, and Davis at the 2/3 position.
But whatever, we never make the right pick. He'll be another player we miss on.
