If rumors start coming out that the talent level falls off a cliff after the 11th pick, the league will give the Knicks the 12th pick.

I got it as a set top 12, but a top 11 isn’t as inaccurate as you would think.. In no particular order

Jabari
Paolo
Chet
Ivey
Keegan
Sharpe
Sochan
Duren
Davis
Mathurin
Dyson
AJ Griffin

I think Sochan and Duren are both going higher than expected and I see AJ Griffin falling down further than expected.

I still can't shake the want for the Knicks to say f it and take Blake Wesley. The flashes of scoring moves, passing, and defense just make him seem like the perfect guard to swing on. He'll need time to develop, but knowing he will compete and be a positive at times defensively makes me worry less about Thibs burying him in the long run.

And man is AJ Griffin's defensive tape disturbing. He's so slow footed I can't imagine seriously trying to have him defend NBA caliber wings. He'd have to guard 4's and he's 6'6. I know people believe he can gain back some of the athleticism he lost from injuries, but I'd hate to be the team taking that chance.

I don't see it with Griffin either, just don't get why he's mocked to go so high. Do not want. Watching Duke Mark Williams stood out a lot more than Griffin imo. If we're planning on letting Mitch go, I wouldn't be mad at taking him. He shot an insane 72% yamming everything he can. Excellent defender. Great size and length, legit 7 footer with 7' 7" wingspan?! :o Athletic. There's a lot to like there.

Only issue I have with taking Williams is that he's hopefully Mitch but with good free throw shooting. Just feels like an underwhelming pick when we need to get some shot creating talent badly and could just pay Mitch instead. I don't really care for Duren for that same reason but at least he's got some passing potential. If we go big I'm more interested in big wings like Sochan & Eason that can slide to the 5 in smallball line ups and have some perimeter skills even if they aren't good shooters yet.

Being overlooked for us. gimme this guy to develop into our starting 2 guard with RJ at the 3. Like him even with Grimes on our team cause he has way more off the dribble scoring ability. Love his defensive intensity too. Grimes can be our 3 and D guy off the bench a la Cam Johnson. If we ever run a small ball lineup in small minutes, you can have Davis, Grimes, and RJ at the 2,3,4.

I'll gladly take a rotation of RJ, Grimes, Cam, and Davis at the 2/3 position.

But whatever, we never make the right pick. He'll be another player we miss on.

Which position is this draft deep/strong at?

I get the impression it's not a good "PG" draft, though that doesn't mean an adequate to good PG type (Dyson?) could fall.

It seems like there is a couple of decent C/PF types in the draft, but it's not so overloaded that one is absolutely falling to 12/13 when the Knicks draft (yes, I'm assuming a team will jump the Knicks into the lottery, you know it's coming)

Where's the best depth? SG/SF? I get that's two positions, so math, but is this where the best collection of talent is?

If that's the case, even though the Knicks have some youth at SG/SF, they should just take BPA.
Sort out the glut later via trade(s)

This assumes the Knicks can identify BPA, which historically, right up until last year, we realize they can't.

Without knowing a single thing about AJ Griffin - not height, weight, strength, abilities, what does he offer than signing Jalen Smith in FA doesn't?

Other than the Knicks can pick him if there, while Jalen Smith might tell the Knicks to kick rocks.

I'm referring to the league always making sure the Knicks are 1 spot from the top rumored talent in the draft.

We was until CJ McCollum decided he was going to get the Pelicans into the playoffs. Honestly out of that list I feel really good about 10 of them and we're drafting at 11 so you're not wrong. This is a really shallow draft, plus even if the knicks move guys minutes are a premium on this squad. I think they will go with someone who fits and is a hooper.

Johnny Davis if he is there is a automatic pick, Mathurin too. They might be open to Davis but you never know.

I’d be surprised if Cam came back.
