How would you rank Shane Battier, James Posey and PJ Tucker in their peaks?

I have peak Battier as very close to all-star level, so him.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

For peaks, I'd go Battier > Posey > Tucker.

Battier is tops for full career rather comfortably, imo.

Why do you see a big gap between Tucker and Posey (with Tucker on top)? Do you feel he's that much better on defense?

Posey, at his peak, was a much better scorer. Tucker has struggled to scrape the bottom edge of league-average shooting efficiency, despite extremely small volume (usage during his prime roughly 9-14%) of mostly spot-up threes.

Posey was once actually the 2nd-leading scorer on a "by committee" 50-win team, and on good efficiency, too. He was actually on the same team as Battier that year, and appeared to be the more valuable of the two overall (though this was not Battier's peak).

Yeah I'm really really high on Tucker's defense. And while no doubt Posey's a more skilled offensive player, because Tucker mastered the corner 3 he's been able to stay on the court on some good offenses.

I just think of Battier and Tucker as real difference makers. Posey, just a good solid rotation wing. Valuable, just not nearly as valuable as those two. There is a reason the Bucks and Miami went to get Tucker when they felt like they had built a championship level core.

I’d love to see prime Battier in today’s NBA environment in which he’d be even more effective. In 2012, he was +10 per 100 possessions with James and in 2013, +17 and +16 with James and with Wade. Incredible BBIQ, good length, excellent strength, one of the quickest reads on rotations, ability to hit open shots…would have loved to see him.
