Re: 2022 NBA Draft Part II
Seems like some winners from the athletic measurements (vert, shuttle, etc) are:
Chandler
Jalen Williams
Agbaji
Terq
Moore
Liddell
Roddy
Procida
Koloko
And some of these also had good size measurements.
As for Procida, when you watch his film, it sort of makes sense... he's got super high shoulders, long legs, and super fast in transition. He has some strange measurements but they do fit with his eye test.

I feel this year is extra long. So many decent prospects with 7 feet wingspans.
Action shot of Mark Williams

2013

No disrespect to Paolo the player. He was great down the stretch for Duke. As a prospect, he is a low floor player with a limited ceiling imo.

id probably take Mark Williams over James Wiseman honestly if they were in the same draft, and Wiseman was seen as a top 3 in his draft (had him 10th myself).

I can’t get a Drummond vibe off a player unless I get to interview them.
If all they talk about is their shoe collection, making friends, and typical player clichés, then i get a Drummond vibe. There are worse things to be than dumb. Oblivious to role and expectations is one of them. He’s a literal man-child.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft Part II
I called Ayton one of the dumbest players I've seen pre-draft.
It shows in his development and his choice to play video games until 5 AM in the morning resulting 2 hours of sleep.
Not stating Williams/Duren are smart/dumb, but mentality, intelligence, maturity matters a ton in this draft process.
You can draft coaches son (like AJ Griffin Jr) or draft kids who grew up in the hood bringing off-course issues into your franchise.

Ya I knew he was long, but you always have to be somewhat skeptical of the college measurements. Most colleges exaggerate their guys measurements by a good amount, and he's playing alongside and against college guys where you dont quite know how big they really are.
But today it coming out that not just his measurements weren't exaggerated, he's actually longer than Gobert. I mean a 2" standing reach advantage over Gobert is crazy. Like its hard to fathom it. And its not like he is built like Chet or even a young Gobert. He isnt some twig out there. Also throw in he has much better mobility than Gobert ever had, and its not just a "potential" thing either. The dude has elite timing and awareness on the defensive end. He was ACC DPOY and a top 4 finalist for NDPOY.
This guys is just screaming multiple All Defense teams in his career.

This is my yearly fist shake at this absurdity. Everyone should absolutely have to test how big they are... makes no sense not to.
My other yearly gripe is not using barefoot height as the standard. Everyone going nuts on Mark Williams being 7'2 and ranking him against tallest dudes ever... yet he's not even the tallest guy in the draft. Kessler is 7'0.25 to Williams 7'0. Yet apparently Kessler wore Whitesides flip flops and Williams wore 2 inch lifts.
Again, I wouldn't draft someone based on that small difference, they are both tall... but its just funny hearing all the stuff on Williams being 7'2.

Am I the only guy who thinks Lofton Jr will be one of the better players in this draft?

I dont think too many people are going all that nuts over Mark measuring 7'2 in shoes. Its more along the lines of him having a truly freakish standing reach of 9'9. The only guy to have a taller standing reach in like the last 20 years is Tacko Fall. So ya I think more people are going nuts about the standing reach, not the height in shoes (even though a legit 7' without shoes is huge).

Yup a standing reach 2" taller than Rudy Gobert. He is in the true freak tier.

Ya that standing reach is insane.
I just really want to see the shoes Kessler and Williams wore. And its silly how now sites will have Williams at 7'2 and Kessler at 7'1. Again, this is not a big deal just a pet peeve of mine

underrated in sooooo many ways in general. Williams is going to be a high quality big in the league.

So is AJ Griffin not going to at least do measurements? That seems like a weird choice to me. I get maybe not doing the athletic testing, but I would think he would do physical measurements because he should come away looking great after those.

I dont think he will be underrated for too long. I think he most likely ends up being a top 10 pick.
