Maybe they try to deal Brunson for Ayton to fill that hole in the middle teams (other than the Suns) are ready to exploit. DA is progressing as an offensive player, so he can turn into the two-way star Mavs need. I can root for the Mavs if that happens.

I have never heard someone tanking in playoffs. :D

Yes, Ayton would be great, but unfortunately it's near 0% for that happenig.

Maybe there is a better word for players who don't want to play with each other and don't care much about winning, but I've seen others use it for this Jazz team as well. Don't think Mavs win vs last year's Jazz or even vs Pelicans with Luka missing half the games.

Mavs gained experience as a team, but other teams had the chance to scout them as well, so to keep improving they need to address the weaknesses.

Mo bamba is supposedly not staying in Orlando so if I’m the Mavs I’m trying to convince him to sign in Dallas. He is exactly what they need. Very good rim protector .if not I would go after Drummond Or McGee

The biggest hole is on the C. Problem is that Mavs don't have much assets except Brunson, but Brunson has to agree with destination for S&T, which makes things much more difficult. He would probably agree to go in Phoenix, but I can't see Suns give Ayton to Mavs no matter what. It would be just too embarrassing.

Good thing about C problem is, that we have seen that solid C are not that difficult to get and anyone will be big improvement over Powell.

Many people here are missing that Luka is only 23 years old, so there's more than enough time for Mavs to build a team around him. Mavs and Luka didn't disappoint in any of last 3 playoffs, a big overachievement in this.

Where are these easily obtained solid Cs?

Mavs played against 6 Cs, all much better than Powell and many pretty cheap too. You're not getting elite C easily, but upgrading Powell shouldn't be that difficult.

Keep the Coach, Try to get mitchell Robinson player , Resigning Brunson.... Which will be biggest success or the biggest fail going further can go either way. If they dont resign what is the plan B. You cant expect Spencer to be your second option..... Get rid of Powell hes terrible.

Not rly sure how they get better...have to start throwing a few picks around . Powell was unplayable...THJ might be rusty...re signing Brunson...alot of issues need to be adressed . I kinda like Spencer/DFS as core pieces i guess relative to their contracts . I get early Milwaukee vibes before they got Middleton and Jrue.

If Sweeney leaves they could be a regression candidate next year like the Hawks were this year

I think there's a great trade to be made to dump THJ and Bertans long-term salaries to test-drive Westbrook for a season.

If it doesn't work, you have a ton of salary coming off the books to make moves around Luka next off-season; or a huge expiring contract as a trade piece at the deadline, if an opportunity arises earliier.

High risk, high reward move for the Mavs, for only one season, at worst. Half a season, if things really go south.

In return, the Lakers get shooting around Lebron, which has always been the formula for success.

Hey, if it's easy to obtain a Gobert or an Ayton or a Looney, go for it.
