Does Kofi Cockburn qualify?

If Brunson gets 25M and regresses he would be just another bad contract on this team. Dinwiddie offers something similar anyway. Maybe they try to deal Brunson for Ayton to fill that hole in the middle teams (other than the Suns) are ready to exploit. DA is progressing as an offensive player, so he can turn into the two-way star Mavs need. I can root for the Mavs if that happens.
I have never heard someone tanking in playoffs.![]()
Yes, Ayton would be great, but unfortunately it's near 0% for that happenig.

Maybe there is a better word for players who don't want to play with each other and don't care much about winning, but I've seen others use it for this Jazz team as well. Don't think Mavs win vs last year's Jazz or even vs Pelicans with Luka missing half the games.
Mavs gained experience as a team, but other teams had the chance to scout them as well, so to keep improving they need to address the weaknesses.

Where are these easily obtained solid Cs?

Mavs played against 6 Cs, all much better than Powell and many pretty cheap too. You're not getting elite C easily, but upgrading Powell shouldn't be that difficult.

So, Gobert and Ayton?

Looney would be enough.

Hey, if it's easy to obtain a Gobert or an Ayton or a Looney, go for it.

Middleton got there at the same time as Giannis.
