I mean that’s the goal but I’m personally not entertaining those discussions until he shows a semblance of perimeter skills.
He has shown a semblance of perimeter skills. That's why people are excited about his future. They've seen flashes of it.
I agree, it's not like I'm not excited either. I'm just solely speaking from if he can be a top 10 player within the first 4-5 years of his career like Luka/Ja/Tatum are.
Tatum and Ja can just as easily be out of the top 10 next year. Neither of those guys belong in the Lebron/KD/Giannis/Jokic/Embiid/Curry/Luka/Kawhi tier. Those are the only constants from year to year. Tatum and Ja are fringe top 10 players belonging in that Dame, Kyrie, Butler, Harden, Booker, AD, and a few others tier.
In terms of ceiling I'd be quite confident most executives from around the league would say Scottie has a higher ceiling than Ja Morant. Ja Morant is a great player but it's never a good sign when the offense and defense plays better when you're off the floor. LOL. You can even make a case that Scottie can reach the level of Tatum if not surpass him...if everything hits. Obviously that's the key there and there are no guarantees they do.
