Tell them to quit wasting fouls on take fouls and they wouldn't have this issue. They had several of these in the first half.
I forgot..
While at it, let's tell Grant Williams to evaporate when Draymond Green runs through him and gets the call.
That was a clear offensive foul.
Yeah I agree on that one but one foul does not get you in foul trouble. None of the Celtics were in serious foul trouble ever.
I agree with you on the take fouls. Hate those. But Tatum and Brown each ended the 1st quarter with 2 fouls. One of Brown's was the bad call on GPII's layup. I don't remember his 1st. But that bad call forced us to take him out and put Tatum back in to close the 1st and then he got a bad foul on his part chasing a loose ball which was his second. But his 1st was earlier in the game on a bad call flop by Draymond.
BOS was really rolling in the 1st. They lost a lot of aggressiveness where there two best players either had to sit or play cautiously. And that carried over into the second where each of them had to play with 2 fouls and worried about picking up a 3rd before the half. I thought it had a profound impact on the 1st half. Ultimately though, they lost because they let themselves be blitzed in the third quarter.
I thought Ime should have recognized the gravity of the situation and challenged Brown's second foul. Tatum's second that he picked up was very dumb on his part. So it's not like BOS is blameless. But it's also fair, IMO, to ask that the refs don't make really bad foul calls on both of players. I think it can be both asking BOS to take accountability for their decisions and things they can control, but also ask the refs to just not be bad at their job haha
