I've totally overlooked Trevor Keels, but I'm noticing a trend of "power guards" finding success in the NBA. Guys that have low centers of gravity and more mass than average like Fred VanVleet, Jalen Brunson, Kyle Lowry, Marcus Smart, and Luka Doncic are finding degrees of success utilizing skilled/crafty "small ball" physicality. The former NBA was designed for big men to be able to "bump" their way to success, this current NBA has room for non big men to carve out a niche skillfully bumping their way to success. Even a guy like Donovan Mitchell benefits, although he couples it with incredible vertical explosion. Lebron James has always benefitted if we are including everything, but I'm more focused on crafty below the rim players finding success while embracing contact/bumping.
