If you’re the Bulls or Miami, you can sign players now. If the Bucks, not until well into the day of July 1st.
Chicago and Miami both got 2nd round picks taken away just like we did.

They didn't have Alex Lasry spilling the beans.

That was the Bucks' choice to back out, wasn't it? The league didn't block the Bogdanovic trade.

What's the downside of this for the Magic? They have massive cap room, and plenty of roster spots.
Players always get overpaid. He'll get a 3 or 4 year MLE from someone.

You pay 10m to a player you possibly don't want and give him a no trade clause? Obviously not our money but that's horrible.

I do think the Bucks can use another center. Portis, Giannis, & Mamu are all more power forwards. That leaves Brook as the only one. I prefer Hartenstein but would be happy with Bamba too. But cost and how the Magic and Clippers or any other team in free agency deal / offer them will play a major factor.

Bogdan and his agent backed out.

Why don't they want him? He started last year. They didn't draft a center. They have no use for the cap space. He can still be traded, you just need his consent. Why would he block a trade to a team that wants him? There's literally no downside.

Bogdan's agent spilled the beans to get Bogdan more money, and it worked.

Would really like Hartenstein on this team.

Hill's last run in Sacramento ended on a sour note. The Bucks won't send him back there.
I do agree that the Magic are a likely destination for Allen.

Perhaps it's time to have a chat with his agent..

Are you being obtuse for a reason? 10m is a huge overpay based on his play. You maybe can give him 10m per on a multi year deal because you hope he develops into a player worth more than 10m. But you wouldn't get that upside here because it would be a one year deal if he signs the QO. He also can't just be used as expiring filler because he can veto a trade so he wouldn't be useful for that. None gets a no trade clause these days, not even stars. So that's a big deal too. And they just drafted a big #1, they extended a big, they paid a big who was injured but may come back. And not to mention the opportunity cost of being able to absorb bad salary and getting paid for it like Detroit for Kemba.

Bamba just finished a 1.2 VORP season. Historically, players with that total get the full MLE and even more. They just drafted a PF. Wendell Carter plays both positions, and they have no other center.
If Orlando makes the QO, they will likely be compensated if Bamba signs with another team.

I'd love Bamba, I just don't think we have a path to getting it done. He is the ideal Brook replacement and would probably really thrive with some proper coaching.

Wendell Carter would be the ideal Brook replacement. A center who has the speed and agility to not get us killed come playoff time, and can also shoot the 3 a little, plus attack closeouts.

Could Milwaukee pull of a S&T with Orlando using Allen and Hill to get Mamba? Then try to pick up Harris with the tMLE. Malik Monk would be another Grayson Allen replacement.

Isn’t Bobby the “Brook replacement” already?
Idk if I see him heading back to the bench long term at least.
Easier to imagine Lopez transitioning to more of a backup role, if not this season, then the next one after he returns on a dramatically smaller contract.
Now we definitely could use another true center in addition. But considering how cash conscious we’ve been elsewhere I suspect 3rd string center isn’t likely to get full tpmle kind of resources.

I like Wendell Carter but Bamba is a much better defender and floor spacer. And I think he has more unlocked potential.
