I've been watching the last couple of weeks, actively pondering which players have endeared themselves to Quin and can be effective players in his system.

Which coaches or players do you guys see on their way out in the offseason?
What players around the league seem like potential targets of the new Head Coach?

I gotta think Collins and Hunter are prime candidates to be moved. I thought DeAndre might really benefit from a real offensive system predicated on spacing and movement. But he's looked worse since QS took over.

(The dude can not dribble.)

As far as keepers:

  • AJ
  • Jalen
  • Okongwu
  • Trae
  • DeJounte

Everyone else can kick rocks...

Trae

Hunter - I am all ears on a big wing upgrade. Good luck finding one. They are only a handful and we are one of the teams that got one. Be happy and be blessed and stop crying all of damn time.

Rookie contract Youngins

The end. Everyone else can go if the right deal is out there. There is a chance we see this same team again next year but without Bogi and with another rookie. I would like to keep Murray but he's are only chance at getting an offensive minded legit center so he gotta go.

I'm not sure about Dejounte. He seems to be falling apart. Might be a good idea to move him. Capela can play some D and rebound, but that's it

For the rest I agree with Jamaal: Trae, OO, AJ, JJ and that's it. But that basically means we need to rebuild most of the team

Hunter just a big disappointment. JC looks done

Trae seems to be the thing that doesn't look like the others. Without Trae, we are a clear rebuild team with top pick potential

Maybe the Hawks really need to trade everycontract for picks and just reset. This isn't going anywhere

I wouldn't say a 6 game slump is falling apart. Hawks also played 7 games in 11 days with 4 straight roadies.
He's logging the most minutes on the team. Hopefully with 3 days off he gets some rest.

He may also have other things going on.

We have a new coach and GM combo with like 4 months combined here. This could be an explosive turnover this offseason. My issues with certain guys.

JC - he seems ready to move on. Allegedly requested out after signing the big deal, that rubs me the wrong way. His overall game has just regressed. Not the biggest deal, I didn't like how he handled Smart after the takedown on Trae.

CC - basically wearing down. Past seasons of foot, ankle, calf, all lower leg issues at various stages. He and Collins can't play perimeter defense at an NBA level which is needed for this roster. Slippage in rebounding and rim protection is noticeable.

DH - he can not dribble, pass, and his shooting is mid. Take him or leave him type player. Schlenk decided to pay him early which was the wrong choice. Would be smart to move him in the middle of a good year at some point.

DJM - he's in love with that mid ranger. I'd assumed he'd put pressure on the rim at a decent level, but nope. He's not a good passer or have good vision. His defense is also something I'm not happy about. Career 12.3 fga to 13.8 ppg is bad efficiency. No one this season is that inefficient except for Dort at 11.8 to 13.8 which is still better than Murray. On the fence on whether to trade or extend him.

Request isn't the right term, but I saw something along the lines of prefer on HH or B/R during the deadline period.

While we ponder the players that will be back next season, Quin is already making additions to the current coaching staff.

With all the personnel that everyone is saying that need to be replaced...

Murray
Hunter
Collins
Capella

What are some players that could replace them that would work in the system?

That's 4/5 of the starting unit. Good luck with that.

Michael Porter Jr. is an elite floor spacer (and long time friend of Trae) who could be a #2 option. But he is expensive and injury prone.
Bojan Bogdanovic or Trey Lyles can work as stretch-4s.
Kyle Anderson works as a Point Forward and defensive specialist.
Malik Monk works as a combo guard to add shooting to the backcourt.
Caris Levert works as a scoring SF and 3rd option.
Dillon Brooks works as a tough nosed defensive wing to bring intensity to an otherwise lethargic squad.
Royce O'Neal is a veteran defensive specialist who'd be great on the court and in the locker room.
Joe Ingles as a backup shooter a la Korver.
Buddy Hield or Aaron Nesmith can add some much needed shooting to the SG position.

Names in red have experience under Quin Snyder.

It's probably in our best interest to find a 5 that can actually shoot three pointers. It could solve a big problem we have. I don't believe we have many keepers and I'm concerned that we've wasted high draft picks on these young guys.

Get a star talent at one of these positions, the 3, 4, or 5. Ok, a superstar.

We'll see how long Bogdan stays on this roster...

I expect Nick Van Exel and Jamelle McMillan to move on this summer. I'm curious what the rest of the staff will look like moving forward...
