Szobo really impressed me today. Nice signing. On to Newcastle.

Obviously, things can change. But, at this moment, it appears we dodged a bullet with Mount choosing Manchester United, forcing the club to switch to Szoboszlai.

EDIT: It does look as if Ten Hag is playing Mount out of position -- as an 8 and not 10.

For who? Gomez? And then who's in the middle, Matip and Quansah? But I agree Trent needs to feel competition for his spot. There just isn't any right now.

I don't think it really matters at this point. Trent remains too much of a liability defensively. Just a complete lack of awareness at times. Find a solution. He's playing out of position imo. Either move him or sit him.

Let me out there! Sure, it'll look like I'm standing still half the time...but that's what the Goalie is for.

What a great victory! Fighting spirit till the very end. I hope that turns out to be "one of those moments" we all look back on when we're hoisting big-ears, as the moment that started it all.

Darwin and Salah roasted Villa's backline. Lovely. Szoboszlai remains incredible.

I liked what Trent was doing against Villa, particularly moving into the CB position in possession. He was spraying passes everywhere. Don't know why Villa didn't try to press more. But Trent is much better when he can see the whole field rather than having his back to the opposition to receive the ball from Alisson or a CB. Credit to Klopp for finding a solution here, at least against a team that didn't press aggressively.

Easy game vs Villa. Dom's strike probably deflated them early and Trent was dissecting them. He was very calm with how much space Villa afforded him.

Defensively they were very solid. I was worried about the Gomez/Matip paring but they did well and i would like to learn more about this Defensive central fielders. Seems like going down 10 in back to back games has solidified the defense because they entire Midfield defending as a pack out if these games.

I forgot how biased refs are towards the "big" teams.

Just stating facts. If you can't handle it from a little Championship team at mighty anfield, that's your problem.

I forgot how good it feels to put "little" teams in their place, especially since Liverpool ran out their reserves (bar Konate starting and Núñez and Szoboszlai as second half substitutes).

your reserves hahaha, you played most of your European squad. We changed 10 players from our league team, you changed less.

I remember in the 70's and 80's when I used to like the Liverpool team, manager and fans.
