The moderator of a Milwaukee Bucks Tickets facebook page said that they treat the playoffs as a separate package and specifically if lower level does bot renew they may not give your seat for playoffs. Many said that was not the case, which I did not think it was either. But he was persistent on it. So I don’t know. I did ask my rep today but have not heard back.

Being a SSH guarantees playoff tickets for this season. They can't pull because you didn't renew for the next year.

yeah that would be really messed up since they advertise the playoff tickets as a perk of being a ssh. nowhere does it say that you must be a ssh for two consecutive seasons in order to guarantee access to your playoff seats for the season you already paid in full for. the fact that that's even a rumor irritates me to no end.

My rep seemed to insinuate the same thing (Playoff tickets are tied to the following year renewal) when I inquired in a previous year, but I wasn't really going to cancel and just renewed. I'm leaning towards cancelling this year. If they don't honor the playoff tickets, it will just reinforce I made the right decision. (Also would put me from "not for me, but maybe for you" to "I don't recommend it" if anyone asks about my experience as a STH)

Yikes. I’m curious what my rep says. I did not yet get a response, but sent it later in the day. I did get charged for my first month though. They’re right on the ball with that.

I’m probably 60-40 towards cancelling right now too. I will be pissed if they pull playoffs but I can use what I have built for next year to buy a few playoff games. The only downfall is I feel I’m going end up with a bitter taste towards the organization yet.

Would love to read a study about gate revenue and how much it contributes overall.

It would be interesting to see for sure. I would have to think tickets sold is a big driver especially since if it leads to merch, concessions, etc. But maybe in 2024 ticket sales takes more of a backseat to tv, sponsorships, and business/suite/courtside accounts. In the grand scheme I don’t think upper level/lower baseline accounts probably matter much to themI’m guessing. But you would think they would want that guaranteed money vs pricing people out without a wait list.

https://www.californiacasinos.com/news/most-and-least-expensive-nba-arenas/

Bucks are 10th highest at $129 but that includes food/parking. If we round up ticket price to $100 per game, that translates to about $2M per game (Regular Season) and around $80M for the RS (and probably another $20M for the Playoffs). For a payroll of around $170-$180M, that's a pretty big number.

They increased season ticket prices by about 20-25%. If that translates well, that's another $15M or so in revenue. That would put us in the top 5 most expensive arenas (on par with the Bulls). I think that's a pretty talk ask for a small market. But, as long as the team wins, they will be fine.

Leaning towards cancelling so that i can wait and see how the playoffs go before making a decision. Not worried about losing my seats, there will always be seats available, especially after the price hikes.

Like i get these guys are billionaires, but it is not immaterial when you talk about something like adding a 37yo PJ Tucker at $9m had something like a $35m cash impact after luxury taxes.....those are big numbers. That huge increase above wouldn't even cover half of PJ Tucker for a year.

Agreed. I was hit with a 90% increase in the winter of 2020 and decide to not renew. Then COVID hit and I did not opt to renew for 20-21 at that price and all the unknowns. Then obviously we had the Championship run. I emailed after Game 4 or 5 and my seats were still available.

I’d also be curious to see what the season ticket holder number was. I think it was lowest in the league during like the Larry Drew year and after the Finals believe was most of the seats were accounted for (21-22 season). My guess is that has some what decreased starting with 22-23 season.

Yeah, I think they say they are at a "cap" but that is just a soft number with X-number of tickets set aside for single game/packages. Like looking at my emails last year they said they had limited seats available during relocation and made other comments about the lower bowl being sold out. That's obviously either misleading or a lie when they are offering up 10-game backs of have hundreds of "standard tickets" for each game on ticketmaster.

Non STH News: LAC getting 2026 all-star game. I think Milwaukee is **** out of luck on hosting between the pandemic costing a year and a slew of mid-western cities getting new arenas. It sucks, but to be honest, not sure its a bad move by the NBA. At some point, you need to have some fun southern cities for the all-star game (PHX, LA, Miami, etc). I'm honestly shocked the last 10 years including Indy, Chicago, SLC, Charlotte, Cleveland, Toronto, NYC. Not exactly February destination cities.

I know we had some hotel issues as well where we didn't technically qualified. No idea if that is actually a deal breaker considering other they've had it and events like the NFL draft at Lambeau.

I had season tickets for the 2021/22 season and my rep was throwing around the same insinuations. I ended up not renewing and was still given my normal access to playoff tickets this season. It seems to be a slimy tactic to get more renewals rather than an actual threat. A bad look either way.

Yeah it does feel like that window is closing. Wild to think we’re already in year 6 of the Fiserv. It also does not help that February is probably the coldest month out of the year here and no one wants to be outside. And we don’t have the quantity of nightlife that some of the other colder cities can offer like Chicago, NYC, Toronto. It would have been cool to have, especially for the city, but each year seems less likely.

When talking about the money from ticket sales. Dont forget the tv deals! The Bucks get about 26 million a year from Ballys. I cant find whah they get from the 27 Billion dollar deal for the national networks. and we have Billionaire owners. its not a good excuse at all. They own the building, yes they have to pay off the loan but come on

Yeah the owners are making bank off owning all the Deer District properties including The Trade hotel. They get a cut from the Marquette games played at the Fiserv as well. Not to mention the sky high food and drink menu which is a **** rip off. Seems like they pay their Bucks employees like **** too. So many excuses from ownership.

What excuses? We have a top 5(?) payroll and committed big money to Midds, Brolo and Dame this summer.

All I was saying was that fans see their ticket prices go up and think that's enough to cover X player. Like that's not how math works.
