I would like to see the Hornets offer Trent Jr. the starting job this offseason. Carve out some cap space for him if possible.

Hornets need to come away this offseason with one (1) of Malik Beasley or Gary Trent Jr. if they can't score a force at SG, flipping the lottery pick for someone like Suggs or Trey Murphy III.

If the new front office reads they can compete in the free agent market for a starting SG then by all means keep the lottery pick unless teams in need of a PG like the Spurs. Pelicans, Magic, Wizards are willing to trade up.

The outgoing front office didn't trade back from 3 for LaMelo despite rumors of 8-9 suitors. Nor did they budge from 2 for Miller. I would have to think about trading back in this draft if the offer comes with both a later pick and a player who can start alongside LaMelo.

Beasley or Trent won't work w/ Ball because none of them defend really well. Murpyy is the best option, but NO isn't letting him go. You could always play Miller at the 2 and draft a 3. Trade down in the draft might be a good option. With it being a weaker draft, perhaps two swings in the first round will provide more of a guarantee that at least one pick will pan out.

Miller, Williams, Miles, Micic, Mann, Bertans. That's 6 NBA players.
That's all the team had last night.
Bench of Thor, McGowens, Bolden is G League stuff
Micic, Mann and Bertans weren't even in an NBA rotation three weeks ago
How's a team supposed to win?

Cliff really just leaned into get the ball to Bertans as if he was the star player last night lol. I would rather get Brandon these reps a closer, be better Steve.

Cliff to Bertans
now look, um you know... if the ball touches your hands, and you're in the front court, and if you ask Dell he'll tell you the same thing, all the great teams are doing it, so if the ball hits your hands and you know, you're not in the back court, just go ahead and shoot no matter where you are on the floor which direction you're facing who's guarding

At least he has reason to be trigger happy, he's our best pure shooter besides Seth.

His overall game aside, Bertrans shot is an absolute thing of beauty.

It is hard to argue with letting Bertans spam 3's considering our offense. And you knew our out of bounds play was going to be dog **** because Clifford. But yeah, this was a perfect opportunity to get Miller a clutch shot hit or miss.

I like Bertans, but I like him more when Cliff just plays him like 8-10 mins and during those stretches we let him fire 4-5 threes. The issue is when we have Miller and Bridges on the court and they are not shooting the ball the final 3 mins because Bertans is the center point.
