I assume you're joking (at least about the Bulls entertaining one).

It's sort of funny because in a mathematical world, there might be some line an extension makes sense, but in a practical world, Lonzo only takes one if he himself doesn't think he can make it back, so you'd always lose.

Yeah I know the Bulls wouldn't and shouldn't consider it but I wouldn't put it past Lavar to ask for one with a straight face lol. And yes mathematically it would only make sense for the Bulls if it was like a 4-5 year deal worth like 4 or 5 mil per year max as a gamble. But very little chance Ball would agree to that unless he had a very strong preference for stability/security.

I was thinking kind of the same thing, except that Lonzo only takes that deal if he knows he's not coming back ever.

Yeah players would be stupid to accept an availability discount, as much as it sucks for fans to see their teams hamstrung by massive contracts for guys who don't play.

Because that’s not how rehab work for a guy that has missed 2 full seasons already. Let’s see if he is still going full speed with contact in October before we talk about him getting on the court again.

Really hoping the best for Lonzo. Don’t really think he has much of a future with the Bulls as they will likely rebuild at some point. However, a successful return from this injury even if it’s with another team will not only affect Ball positively but the league going forward. Cartilage defects have derailed the careers of many great players like T-Mac, Oden, and Amare. If Ball is able to return successfully he may have saved many future careers by being the test subject for this medical procedure.

There is no doubt in my mind he will play again, my only hope is that he doesn’t come back a shell of himself but instead plays well. As someone who had the surgery I wish him the best.

Yeah, I wouldn’t rush the process. Ball is the first player to ever have this surgery and try to play again. I rather him take his time and rehab correctly rather than rush things.

Sounds to me like somebody close to the scene told KC to calm the mood, because his report has people getting ahead of themselves.

Legion Hoops said "advanced basketball activities" instead of "advanced rehab activities," which I suppose are two very different things.

OK, that makes sense. Yep, different things.

uhhh, kind of hard to move on when he's still under contract through 2025. And nice hyperbole, he last played in January 2022. A little over 2 years ago. And I don't see many people expecting him to come back and play at a high level. I see most rooting for a young player to come back and have a successful career after working his whole life to get there and having to deal with a horrible long lasting injury.

Great for Lonzo Ball, I don't think it means much for the Bulls. Ball has one more year on his deal and then we should be out of the Lonzo Ball business. I don't care if he comes back and plays at an all star level. Which is highly unlikely.

He just seemed like a guy going 80%. We all saw Derrick's workout hype videos. Every NBA player looks good at 80% against air. Hell, even Valentine looked awesome in his workouts with his ankle problems. Get them in a game and things change.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

I’m pretty positive that treadmill clip is really old. Like pre knee transplant.
