1. NGL that sucks for Northwestern, lol.
2. Does Twitter basically just completely not work now unless you're logged in? I clicked that and went to the guy's profile to see if there were other related tweets, and it's just a mess of unordered posts instead of a chronology.

Yeah, I think unless you are logged in you can only see the tweet that is linked without any comments. Then when you click on the user's account, you only see posts from awhile back.

I completely forgot that NW doesn't have a stadium this year.

Re: Badgers Football
Basketball player.
Pettaway chose UW over USC, Washington, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, and Rutgers.
As a junior, Pettaway tallied 25.0 tackles, 4.0 sacks, and two interceptions for the Cardinals.
Per 247sports, Pettaway is the nation's No. 65 ranked defensive lineman in the class of 2025. The Badgers currently have a top 10 ranked recruiting class, per the 247sports composite team rankings.
Impressive ranking and offers considering he's only played one year of football.

Hard to get into recruiting knowing that half of these guys are gone before they ever see the field.

This is a valid point, but I do kind of like where Fickell is going given this new reality/norm.
If you can do it, I think the best strategy is to sign high-upside guys and over-sign. This could change in like 2 years if they hammer out a league with a union, contracts, and everything else, but right now you know that you might lose a few commits or transfers to NIL stuff, but you can always find a stable replacement transferring from the Mountain West or whatever. You need to gamble and recruit well in everything else and hope several of those gambles pop.
I don't know if the basketball coach gets this idea yet.
It's the exact opposite of how Wisconsin used to build in focusing on 15 guys (plus walk-ons) they can really develop and keep them around. There are just too many other teams that can get the same depth as you now simply by hitting the portal if they need to.

They need to stop using the word "commitment".

"See what other schools have to offer".
We've gone from "pay the kids!" to needing a salary cap pretty fast.
