I think that is a jab at the head coach. He said that after game 3 too, that the coach is the leader. Vogel was just a bad hire.

It did not.

It turned out EXACTLY like I feared it would.

Have you guys watched at all how was he playing this season? How efficient he score 30 in a sleap, how he elevates others on the team and how good defence he was playing? Nets won 18 of 20 games before he got injured..
Mikal and Cam are nice players, but God Lord!?!?
Do you know who he is?
so many good takes here

Team may give it one more run since the Big 3 didn't play that much together.
But still won 49 games.

It's obvious you haven't seen them play.

Not enough but what's the other alternative, trade KD and/or Booker?
They're both all-NBA level players this season. Suns aren't getting anything like that back. Maybe they can hope to get expirings and a lot of picks and try to reset.

Dreadful hire.
How can an owner look at the Lakers situation with Lebron running Vogel out of town and think to themselves man I've got a multiple egos just as large as LeDouche's on this team - YUREKA! I should hire Vogel!
I don't know what's worse - the decision to hire him or not have a point guard.

If they're all NBA players this season and got swept in the first round looking terrible since February 2023, then what good are they?
Trade them all.

Additionally, let's grab a defensive head coach and then get him Jusuf Nurkic as the defensive anchor and have Vogel work his magic. Nurkic is a phenomenal passer for a big, he can basically be the PG.

If we traded for a 32 year old KD even this might have been worth it but he's 34 and clearly on the decline as evidenced by last years playoffs when KD struggled to get to his spots against a much younger Boston team and just looked a step slow in their playoff defeat.
The fact that we gave up 4 UNPROTECTED picks is just inexcusable as well, how can you not put any sort of protection on any of those picks? If this move backfires we will be in a tough spot in a couple years with no draft picks and having KD's massive salary on the books.
I went back and found my post on the KD trade, looks like 70 percent of RealGM was optimistic about this trade and the naysayers were in the minority.
To make matters worse Ishbia pick swapped the remaining picks, then traded away almost all our 2nd's and traded for an almost untradeable Bradley Beal doubling down on his all in win now move. I really think the window to win was when we faced Denver in the semis and took them to 6 games with a non existent bench but I fear our window has been firmly shut now with the changing of the guard.
LBJ, KD and Harden are still hanging on but they are in their twilight years and their era is just about over now.

KD is the 6'10+ most skilled player ever. It’s crazy how smooth and fluid is his game.
