everyone doubting Simons will be eating their words this season. I have a feeling Anfernee's going to become a new fan favorite in Green. Obviously has a lot to learn defensively, but he has a ton of Raw talent. Will be interesting to see who steps up and becomes part of the C's rotation. Walsh not so sure, having JD vibes here.... Scheierman on the other hand may take the next step and the newbies who knows!? looking fwd to it

Although I’m still a huge Walsh believer, I think this is his “show me” season. He has to do something that says he’s a keeper. With that said, Walsh has shown more than JD apparently, because he was given an opportunity to grab minutes every season, JD never really got a shot. Walsh got a huge shot to start last season, I think he showed progress. Now, he may get an even bigger shot at it, we’ll see how it works out, but he must do it consistently, because they seem to like Minott already.

We have Rico and Hugo too. Not that they are the same, but there are only a couple spots for all those guys, and JB and JT (healthy), eat up most of those minutes as is.

This is IT, all of these guys better be thinking, “go hard and leave it all out there every minute I get.” Play as a team, first and foremost, but always be in the mindset of “I have to outperform the next man!” There is no time for anyone to take this season lightly, if you are one of the guys who haven’t shown they belong. That’s likely why they say practice has essentially been a slugfest. Lot of talk of competitiveness. Bloody Pritch could attest to that.

I really believe Simons will have the same sentiment swing that we had for D White. A solid rotation player out west that we were all aware of but didn't watch night in/out, who then really makes a name for themselves and thrives in Boston. It will happen.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Agreed and would add 2 thoughts:

1) In these debates about who is better / who should start between Simons and Pritchard, I think we need to remember that Pritchard has feasted while playing against bench units while playing in the weaker eastern conference. Simons has played vs starters in the tougher west.

Simons will be even better now that he's in the east.

If we try putting Pritchard in the starting lineup, I'm not sure how he's gonna do - having to go against starters.

Plus, playing alongside Tatum (who often ran with the bench units) has benefitted Pritchard..a luxury he won't have this season.

I think pretty clearly, Simons is the better player. So he might start.

I say might, because Pritchard has literally 5 more years of experience playing in Boston than Simons does so Pritchard has more familiarity with the system, the coaches, the teammates, etc. And Pritchard isn't in trade rumors so he is more likely to be a long term piece here. So for those reasons, it wouldn't shock me if Pritchard starts and they have Simons be a super 6th man.

I could see it going either way.

2) Interesting that in this video, both Simons and Pritchard are wearing green practice jerseys. Usually I think they have starters in green, 2nd unit in white and 3rd string in orange. So it seems like they're getting some scrimmage reps in with Pritchard and Simons out there together - with the starters.

Makes sense - 2 of the best players on our team so they will likely play together at times..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Signed up for League pass to watch our Celtics play. I'm excited for the young players to show their stuff!

Predicting a breakout season for Queta.

Wow, is this the starting 5, or is you just posted it.. Cause That's prolly my ideal starting and bench 5 for the season..May swap Boucher for Hauser if he isn't performing. Although I do expect an expectional season from Boucher, tbh.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

If Boucher starts this year, we're in trouble. He's only started 23 games in his career.

Naw. That's how I found the picture.
Looks pretty good, though. -- We'll see.

Yeah but, who else would you Start? -- We're thin on Starter Experience, at that position.

I'd think with the D from the other starting 4 that they could make good use of Sam as the 5th starter. Does the emphasis on speed interfere with that?

He was playing behind Siakam most of his whole career who's not exactly a scrub. I think we can forgive him.

Bobby Krivitsky‬

Love that Xavier Tillman Sr. is getting the start back in Memphis. He did so on the Celtics' trip there last regular season as well.

Starting 5:

Derrick White
Jaylen Brown
Sam Hauser
Chris Boucher
Xavier Tillman Sr.

Mazzulla cautioned pregame not to read too much into that.
