I legit misread this as "did you ask for a potato", which would have been odd but also a boss move to pull at a steak house.

Walk up to Mark Williams' table, ask: "you gonna eat that"?, then snatch the potato from his plate, bite into it like it’s an apple, and then just casually walk off.

Even as an almost middle aged man it’s amazing to see nba players up front and personal in real life. Brings out the little kid in me. I was curious what he ordered…

So they actually signed him? When did that finally get done man? Last I heard, China had a big contract offer for him. But nothing yet from the Kings in the way of a commitment. :dontknow:

Feels like a few days ago. Apparently he was looking at around $15m in China but the guy has made $350m in his career (not including sponsorship), I don't think he needs to go to China for a pay day. He seems like he'd rather retire than play overseas, which he's earned imo

Agreed! Very good points man in that he's made enough money and probably just is at that point if not in a good situation for his interests. I do kind of wish he'd been added as our starting PG, because even though he's not a good shooter, he has always been a stat stuffing type intangibles guy that brings relentless energy/ effort that teammates could feed off of.

I know that apparently many want to further promote this whole Point Book narrative as the solution to our point guard problems,

but I for my part still feel it's doing a disservice to Booker's natural role and scoring abilities by playing him at a position that negates his scoring prowess and reduces that to more of a playmaking initiator role for lesser skilled options.

Booker's done admirably well at his new position, but it'll never truly be his best position as he was when he was a lethal scoring threat, now taking that weapon away to play a different role, and push offense through lesser scoring options. But hopefully this experiment somehow out this time.

Westbrook would have given that near triple double threat in other areas while allowing Booker to focus fully on his offensive dominance and natural scoring abilities and Westbrook also feeding the team's energy and efforts contagiously.

I don't feel too bad about this year. I'm excited for the season. Expectations are low, but I think we will be slightly better than most are predicting.

Simply mind boggling how much value was lost in that KD trade and the following Beal fiasco trying to create that faux superteam that never happened. Worst of all is no draft assets for a rebuild and Beal will restrict our cap flexibility for the next half decade too.

Just an epic masterclass in team / franchise demolition. Hopefully these rookies can become high level players and some of our other players can recoup trade value for us somewhat too!

Yeah! I actually do think it'll be more entertaining just by virtue of their effort, fight and athleticism. I have us finishing with around 37 wins and somehow sneaking into the playin or just barely missing it. Mostly depends on injuries to Booker and Green.

But we'll definitely be a much better watch than our previous team that just gave up and conceded loss after loss.

Yeah, I saw Shaq one time in San Diego. I also saw Nash at a bar in Scottsdale right after the Suns got him..I think when they drafted him. He wasn't that tall though. I actually talked to him, told him to pattern his game after KJ and not Sam Cassell who we had at the time, because he was a ball hog. He listened lol.

I'm a little more excited because at least we have some young guys. And hopefully some good leadership. With Brooks I think he is a good vet/locker room guy, as hated as he is as an opponent and his grit will kind of have that PJ Tucker effect.

Though I've had him in fantasy and he has that Jae Crowder streakiness from 3, so get ready for one game being 6-9 from 3 and then the next game 1-10. Just remember that averages out to 7-19 which isn't bad.

Apparently Mark Williams is available to play in the opener but will be minutes restricted.....

So no one has explained to me why we're load managing him already?

Apparently, because of his concerning injury history, the suns approach is just really precautionary because they're trying to build up his strength and durability to try and make him more durable for a long season.

I get the rationale for wanting to make sure we get him right so he can be as healthy as possible over the long season but we also traded for him on 26 June, that's almost 4 months ago. As far as we know, he hasn't been nursing any injuries that made the news so we have to assume he's been largely healthy, yet after 3 months, he's played no preseason games, he was held out of 5 on 5s until recently and while it's great he's available for the 1st game of the season, he'll be minute restricted...so like we've had 4 months to get him right and we're still babying him into the early part of the season.

None of this inspires confidence

Luka's back is going to be shot by January with how much carrying he'll have to do with these trash Lakers.

Is Kuminga the most delusional player in the NBA?
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Oh I fully agree man!
My deepest hope is that he can maintain his health and really play well and show enough durability to create solid trade value ( if possible) by the trade deadline, so we can try and recoup some draft assets for our rebuild.

Or package him along with one of J Green,
O'neale or Allen ( though I'd kind of prefer to keep Allen for his shooting) for a potential #2 option for Booker if not J Green. Really whatever expedites our rebuild a bit while still holding onto our recently drafted young prospects.
