If we land Wall then I think we need to make a major push for Mayo. I feel like he'd be such a good fit with Wall as the PG and Brook manning C. I could just see the kickouts and Mayo draining shots.

What would it take to get him, we'd have to start with Devin, then what?

I want Mayo even if we don't get Wall, as long as we don't draft Turner. As much as it's intriguing I wouldn't want to run Mayo or Turner at the point although I guess you could put Turner at small forward, OJ at shooting guard and have someone else run the point.

I don't know what it would take to get Mayo. I have mixed feelings. On one hand I feel like Memphis wouldn't want to move him at all, unless it was a deal they literally couldn't pass up.
On the other hand, they were supposedly trying to trade Mayo and Thabeet for Monta Ellis. They also seem very committed to Rudy Gay and the two don't seem to like each other.

Memphis fans on here hate it, but a trade I have suggested was Devin Harris and Courtney Lee and/or CDR for Mayo and Conley or OJ and one of their late picks. I am honestly not sure if it's enough to get it done, but I think their real life front office would give it a long look.

Personally, I think we have a better shot of a S&T for Rudy Gay before we ever get OJ. Thing is, I like OJ, but if we're moving Devin, it's for a player in a need position....SF or PF. Twill is a jumpshot away from becoming a monster 2 guard. I expect that is all he will be working on this summer. Plus, Twill plays defense, OJ doesn't. I'm gonna stick with our Twill/Lee combo and see how that plays out.

I think you're right that we have a better chance at Gay, but then again Memphis has been very committed to him in public.
I also agree that T Will is a jumpshot away from being really good, but he has never really had a jumper, so it may take long for it to develop, or it may never develop. Also I love the fit of him coming off the bench for now and like the idea of a starting shooting guard that can play well off the ball, which Mayo does and T Will hasen't proven to be able to.

I don't know where you're getting some of this other stuff from though?
Mayo is a very good defender.
Also, moving Devin for a position of need is not that much of a concern. He isn't necessarily the long or even short term solution at point guard, so besides center, you move him for any position as long as the return is worth it, which Mayo obviously is.
Courtney Lee is a so-so role player. I'm not saying we need a star at every position, cause that rarely works, but Mayo is such an improvement over Lee and has proven himself to seemlessly fit into a stacked starting lineup without complaining, all while making a big positive impact.

So who are some people's personal favorites for the two later picks assuming we keep them?

Assuming we get a top 2 pick (dont draft big guy) I wanna go by need. Thats a back-up big and a back-up shooting SF.

I really liked Varnado and DeShaun Butler but it looks like that injury puts him out of the draft entirely. If we get that SF 1st Varnado would be my 2nd choice. Going by the early Mocks there is almost no SF candidates around our 1st pick, just Ebanks who can't play basketball. Too bad Singler decided to stay. So the more like 1st pick to me would be Lawal then best player av. in the 2nd. Maybe Paul George (SF), i'm not a fan of Babbitt and Varnado with the 2nd.

Lets wait till the work outs start (soon). Larry Sanders and (blah) Orton can be options too.

Larry Sanders look interesting, but I wouldn't be to surprised if he's taken in the lower twenties. The same for Daniel Orton. I like those two as far as potential goes. Jarvis Varnado is another guy that intrigues me, primarily for his ability to block shots, but he needs to hit the weight room. Lance Stephenson is also another intriguing prospect but with to many questions on his attitude, i've already had enough of those type of players on our team in the past. If he can get his head together then he will shine, no doubt. I remember seeing him play in high school here in the NY area and if you asked me who i thought would be a future stud in the league I would have said Lance Stephenson. In the end, I would have Sanders, Orton and Jarvis Varnado on my short list...

For some of youy who don't know the potential in Lance Stephenson, check out this video on youtube of him in the eigth grade against the top high school point guard in the nation, OJ Mayo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOAyUMH2Tng

Here's Lance dunking on Cousins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO5vJz11 ... re=related

Kids got talent, but those character issues scare me...

I would LOVE Paul George, but I think he's going to catapult up draft boards by the time June rolls around.

Based on pure upside (would have been a top 8 pick last year), I'm very intrigued by Willie Warren.

Da'Sean Butler would have been on the top of the 27/31 wish list before he blew out his knee. Maybe we can take advantage of Porkorov's wealth and buy Butler later in the draft.

Others I'm intrigued by
Eric Bledsoe: though he probably won't be around by then.

Kenneth Faried: small school and I don't quite know what position he is, but anyone who can rebound like that should be able to contribute in some way. Local guy as well.

Devin Ebanks: with his length and athleticism, could be a great 3/4 defender.

Yeah, it's a shame what happened to Butler. He was a gamer. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Eww to Ebanks, dude is such a slob.

I'll be honest, I asked this question at the worst time. I'm in that Trade Board mock draft and my pick is up in a couple picks and I don't want to give away any insight into who I might take.
The streets is watchin', nah mean.

I know I'll probably get slammed for this, but I want Vazquez with our 2nd round pick if he's there. I honestly believe he'll a) be the next Manu Ginobili and b) get taken in the 20's somewhere but I'd love to see him fall.

Ebanks can't play basketball and has off court issues. Hell no to that. I'm surprised he can even dribble the ball.

Any interest in a three team trade that has the Nets netting Beasley, Chalmers, and the 21st pick via the Thunder for the 3rd overall and the Mavericks pick? It would eat away at the capspace, but man, there would be a lot of talent on that roster. We could then use the 21st pick, plus whatever, to move up and grab a late lottery pick.

Dude will likely be there early to mid second round. He's wildly inconsistent, has character concerns and suspect athleticism. He might be OK, but the next Ginobli? No way.
