Some seem to think he's really going to slip because he won't be in the NBA for another season.

Obviously that's idiotic, as no team in the top 10 is going to be at all relevant next year anyway IF there even is a season.

If he's there, the Raps SHOULD pick him. But with him not coming over for a year and them needing help at PG and SF too, it's not that unbelievable to see them pass on him esp given their GM.

The seem to like Knight a whole lot as well. According to todays wiretap, but that has been out there for a while.

wiz fans have kanter #1 on our draft board. parting with the 18 is tough but i think its a good trade for both sides...if kanter is there at 4 and jonas there at 6

Jonas V is out for a year. I'd think he's lost some attractiveness to the Cavs.

Yeah, I still think there's a really good chance Utah takes Kanter at #3, which screws the trade up. Well, you guys would still have a shot at Kanter, but we'd have to take Jonas at #4.

I sure as hell hope not.

might be the wrong thread just throwing it out there, LA trades pau gasol for the number 2 pick, then trade yall the number 2 pick, and character for the number 4, a late first or second, and jj hickson, then they trade denver hickson and the late first or second for felton. would yall move the number 4 and hickson to get the number 2 or is that too much?

No.

oh look, the team with one of the best, if not THE best, scouting departments in the league wants to trade up and take Jonas. rumor has it they're even willing to trade one of their big 3 to make it happen.

Cavs definitely can't wait a year for Jonas then. no way. they need a player to lead them back to the lottery again next year....can't have him overseas.

Apparently Minnesota is going to take Kanter #2 overall. I think thats pretty damn stupid of them, but I have yet to agree with a major decision Kahn has made since taking over as GM.

Is there any way Utah passes on Williams? They have quite a log jam at PF.

There is NO way the Jazz pass on Williams. None. The Jazz would utilize Williams as a SF alongside Favors and Jefferson. If Minnesota is stupid enough to pass on Williams, I promise you Utah will not.

Really throws a monkey wrench to things if Minny does take Kanter. OR, could they be posturing to lure the Cavs or Washington to up the ante for the 2nd pick? Either way its getting interesting.
I love this time of year.

They really don't have a logjam. Favors and Jefferson can play Center, especially since Okur is supposed to be out a long time. But even so, Jefferson only has 2yrs left anyway at which point Williams would be 22, still very young.

Basically, Utah will be able to go forward with a bigs rotation of Favors, Millsap, and Williams (or Kanter, whom I think they'll pick if he's there at 3). That's damn good.

I think that Jefferson, Milsapp, Favors, and Williams are all powerforwards. That seems like a log jam to me. Sure Jefferson can play center but he sucks at defense. I dont think Favors can play center.

Does SI's official mock of Tristan Thompson at #4 scare the crap out of anybody else?
I certainly hope that the Cavaliers wouldn't be so short sighted as to pass on Valanciunas because of one (likely shortened) season, for a 6-8'' PF that will spend that same season on the bench behind AV, Hickson, and Jamison.

Move down before Thompson. Lots of smoke being blown around at this point.

If we take Thompson at 4 I will scream. At the end of the day I think we end up with another Lotto pick and take him and Val.

Best case scenerio for today:

1. Irving
4. Valanciunous
7/8. Thompson

Get that pick and a 2012 first rounder by packaging Hickson and Sessions.

So the Cavs want Tyrus Thomas 2.0 at best. Oh, and they want to replace the best player on the team from last season who is....22.

Seems like there is some idiom here.... green grass, the other side, etc.

Hickson is not our best player. Varejao, Jamison, and Baron are all better players. Hickson is fools gold and I would love to trade him for something valuable.

Well at least now the rumo mill has the interest in Thompson connected to the acquisition of a third lottery pick.

I said best player from last season.

The former two missed half the year and the latter played less than 1/4 of the season in Cleveland. JJ was the best Cavalier last year.
