This Suns Team, Thank You.

Post#1 » by DRK » Tue Apr 15, 2014 4:31 am

This team will forever be in my heart. The team everyone expected to be last in the Western Conference, has proved everyone wrong. We have demanded the respect of the league with our play.

Nobody, not even myself believed in us, but yet our team did. And we fought tooth and nail to the end.

To this team, and to everyone who has made this season so great, no matter how heartbreaking it is now,

Thank you.

Basketball is alive and back in Phoenix. Lets get it Next Season!

Well, at least the future is bright in the valley. Also, lottery picks are valuable in this draft.

Yes. Hopefully those people critizicing people like Frye/Tucker/etc like they are supposed to be superstars will one day realize what a great season they had.

Phoenix has a great future. Stockpiled picks in a deep draft, financial flexibility in the upcoming offseason and a young GM who seems to have a grip on the basketball and financial side of the team. Phoenix has lots of untapped potential and should most definitely make the playoffs next year barring any crazy injuries.

I look at this as a successful season through and through. Could we have gotten into the playoffs with Pau? Maybe.

What I do know is that I'm incredibly proud of our guys and haven't been this excited about the Suns in a loooong time. Our guys should hold their heads high because what they've achieved is nothing short of amazing.

Maybe next year will finally be the year the team learns to hold onto big leads.

lol, ya right.

At least it wasn't a dumpster fire of a team. To shove it up the ass of the "tankers" is reason enough to be happy.

It was a fun year. I regained the same love I had for this franchise since the 04-05 season. The future is bright. In McD, we trust.

Bright future can't argue that.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Surprising Season! A bunch of overachievers starting with our RoboGM to RickyBobby. The offseason will be quite entertaining aswell (FA-DraftPicks-PlayerDevelopment). That trade touch that McDeals has cough-cough Kevin Love.

Huge surprising season. Like DRK said, nobody reallly expected us to be good this season and yet Hornacek and his players pulled it off.

A shame that Hornacek won't win COY simply cause we didn't make playoffs.

Portland fan here. Just wanted to say you guys had game this year, when many were expecting a tank. You guys have what, three 1st rounders this draft? You always seem to have super high level pg's, too, lol. Absolutely love watching you play - just not against the blazers haha - and next year you're going to be nasty. Love Hornacek, too.

You do it the right way. Much respect. Be proud.

Sloan never won COY and he went to two NBA finals. I'm sure Horny will understand.

Great season. We should be in the playoffs if it wasn't for Bledsoe being out half of the season. Really happy with Gerald Green the most. Other than Dragic, Green was really big for us this season. A guy we all didn't even want on this team played with a lot of heart and brought excitement back to the team.

This offseason might be one of the best. I'm positive Suns will be a top team next season. You guys will see. A plan is set for a great 2014-2015 season.

Supposedly the worst team on paper in the West turned out to have such a great year, they could have been the 3 seed in the East. Great story.

Small silver lining for the Suns fans, by being eliminated from playoff contention, PHX moves up SEVEN spots in this draft.

I can't wait till next year when some of the youth matures. I think Plumlee is the biggest key to next year. Dudes gonna be a beast after this offseason. He came into the year getting traded playing behind Gortat and more than likely Len. Now he knows he's the starting C on a playoff caliber team. Dudes gonna put in the time.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I hate moral victories. Yeah, this team did much better than what the pundits predicted, but as a fan I'm rooting for a much bigger goal. It doesn't make me feel any better that we tried harder this year because we're still a perennial lottery team. This is pretty much the same position we were in during the last Nash years, 9th or 10th seed 13th or 14th pick, except that we are set up better for the future. Like you mentioned, the future is something to look forward to considering the position McD put us in. One big concern I have is that for some reason the Suns might not retain Bledsoe and this season may prove to be a fluke, but let's hope that doesn't happen and the Suns make a move to no longer be considered "desert Cinderella's" but an actual threat to the West like the Clippers, Spurs, Rockets and Thunder are. But that all boils down to one thing, acquiring a superstar. At least this team was exciting though and not miserably dull as they were during the Nash/Hill/Dudley years.

You have to start somewhere SunsFanSSOL. Yeah we're still on the outside looking in like last year but it's a great step in the right direction.

Ultimately, I loved watching the team this year, and I'll look back on this squad as one of my favorites.

As I get older, I find that I value sports more for the entertainment than for anything else, and this squad was incredibly entertaining.
