anytime you guys want to stop making it about me and make it about simmons again thats cool but like I said, facts are facts and you can't really deny anything I've said about Simmons so logically if your fan you gotta shoot the messenger. you put ur faith in the wrong "analyst". sorry. its time to move on and start to try to learn and educate yourselves by reading from people who actually know what they are talking about. there is no shame in moving on to better things and learning and making yourself smarter thats what i do.

Simmons' idea for the "Entertaining as Hell Tournament" is for the 8 seed at the end of the season. And it's a fantastic idea.

you should see his NFL picks every year with his goofy rules for gambling that make no sense. Hey Bill, here is a tip, a real gambling rule. NEVER, EVER, pick a team who played on Monday Night Football and then has to go on the road the next week. Especially if its a cross country trip or if its back to back road games (which are much more rare). Every year I see you buck this trend 2 or 3 times and go 0-2 or 0-3. THERE IS A REASON THE POINT SPREADS SEEM OFF AND IT SEEMS LIKE AN EASY PICK. If he really puts money on these games like he claims I feel sorry for his wife and kids.

Midseason tournament?

Award show sounds good. Replay center should be good.
Jokic 31/21/22
Luka & Oscar = 5 x 27/8/8
The Brodie = All-out energy
Best Canadian: Nash or SGA?

I understand he has a depth of knowledge about the history of the nba but THATS IT and thats not what he does. What he does is put out ignorance (as viewed by his horrible NFL point spread prediction record) because hes a frail little unathlethic wimp he never understood what team sports mean or what values are important.

well you seem like a nice fellow

facts are facts though. bill simmons sure seams like a "nice fellow" with his ignorance when he constantly blasts people and tears them down to the, and ill admit, millions in his audience. im a nobody on realgm talking to you guys, on an internet message board (not tv, not article form).

Facts are indeed facts, opinions on the other hand.....

Also when calling someone ignorant or stupid, you should probably not spell it "stoopid". That kinda seems pot calling kettle black.

As for Simmons, the guy landed a dream gig. Sometimes he's entertaining, many times he's just a homer that spouts nonsense. Of course he's working for ESPN, so homerish nonsense is probably required.

Award show...yawn. Maybe it's just me, but watching a bunch of celebs in suits at awards shows while listening to Chris Berman and Stu Scott spout catch-phrases isn't entertaining at all. The replay idea isn't a bad one though.

Sad thing is I'm sure Bill could whoop you.

Based on what? He shares your favorite team?

I've never seen the RealGM user in question, but I would put my money on a mystery opponent to take out Simmons any fight.

edit: Oh, he posted his facebook. Nm, its pretty much a toss up if he and Simmons got into a tussle.

i spelt "stoopid" like that for emphasis, because this is a message board and that how i said it in my head when i was thinking. I can easily write at I higher level on this board but I don't because I don't think its worth the time, fits the style of message board posting (as you can see in many of my posts I capitalize ALOT of words for emphasis as well, I know thats not "proper" english). I also stand on principle and I think spelling and grammer Nazis think they are smarter than they really are because they know something that is largely meaningless. The purpose of communication and conversation is to relay a message through a shared understand of the words and the language. So long as my points or posts accomplish this, that you are able to tell what I am saying, it doesn't matter how I spell the words or grammer mistakes I may or may not make or whether they are intentional or not, my job as the communicator is accomplished because the message was sent and received. I know this takes a little higher level of thinking than spelling memorization to understand this type of logic or philosophy but it's not rocket science either.

the amount of bill simmons hate is crazy. i think he's funny and hilarious. Posters really bashing him and taking personal shots at him is pathetic.

yes because Simmons NEVER EVER takes personal shots at people in the public spotlight (which he himself is). If he was more positive I would give him more of a pass but when you hear him tear down certain players just because he doesn't like the team they play on or when he makes some of the jokes he makes he endorses the very behavior against him that you are criticizing. This guy isn't some small time poster anymore he is paid very well, on TV, featured on one of the worlds most visited websites, had a trillion dollar corporation or whatever Disney is worth stake him up and make him the center of a major venture / website. He is not above criticism especially when it comes to discussing his basketball opinions on a basketball board.

I truly believe what I said about him being nonathletic and it is NOT PERSONAL its to prove a point. Because he is nonathletic and never played he gets too caught up in the bull that isn't important and it blinds him from offering any real insight. Alot of people that never played can get past this by wanting to learn or adjust their thinking but Simmons is full of himself and hasn't and wont (at least now, I didn't follow him 10-15 years ago so I can't speak on if hes changed). He is not humble enough to get past his shortcomings in this respect. Like I said facts are facts I believe this is accurate observation (not blind observations like Simmons so often offers up).

and anyone that defends him by saying he is funny your not selling that to me. I don't think he is that funny, he has moments, BUT EVEN IF YOU DISAGREE HE IS A SPORTS COLUMNIST / ANALYST NOT A COMEDIAN. I understand at one time he had a joke website on ESPN, that would be worlds better than him now because it's advertised as a joke not presented like an expert.

edit: if he wants to be "funny" take it to the comedy club leave it off draft night.

Simmons has gone a little downhill with success but he's still one off the best out there. Pretty knowledgeable, great cultural references, mildly witty and unafraid to say things other media ppl won't say.

The guy hating on Simmons in this thread is just annoying

Well, he must be doing something right. I''m guessing you're thinking about him more than he's thinking about you.
