Was there anyone out there that the Hornets could have gotten for sure? Trades are nice but not guarenteed. The team needed spacing with McBob gone. Williams can do that while reducing pressure on the young guys.

I do wish McBob was back, but it is what it is.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Kris Humphries was signed for less money a few days later. I also wonder if we could've gotten in on that DeJuan Blair trade that the Wizards got from the Mavericks

Hump doesn't really provide #spacing though.

We signed Marvin because he was the best fit and can play PF and SF

Tolliver did (41 3P%), and we let him walk for a cheaper price than we signed Williams (36%). Tolliver made 102 3-pointers to Williams' 84 last season while playing almost 400 minutes less of total playing time

Marvin can do more than just spot-up shooting, I dont like that we overpaid him tho, he only makes 2 million less than Lance lol

Marvin is a good signing if we can get rid of Henderson. Hes basically a Henderson who can play SF/PF comfortably.

The signing sucks if we keep both of them. With Lance now all Marvin has to do is catch and shoot open 3's. He should be able to do that at least.

I don't want Marvin Williams trying to do anything more than just spot shooting at this point in his career. His footwork is rather disruptive to himself and he has a recurring sore Achilles tendon

I think he can do everything that McRoberts did, and he is an upgrade as an outside shooter. We weren't regularly relying on McRoberts to create off the dribble, and I don't think that's the role that Williams should have.

Upon further review, McRoberts is a superior player to Marvin Williams. We should've offered McRoberts the same contract that we offered Williams, and I'm sure he wouldn't have deserted us

...or better yet, we just shouldn't have offered Williams that contract at all out of desperation. I'm sorry if it come off like I'm attacking you, because I'm not. The Williams signing was just that horrible that it ramps up my testosterone in a bit of rage

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 02&y2=2014

If you look at the above player comparison via Basketball-Reference using advanced stats instead of raw numbers, McRoberts is the better 3-point shooter, the better rebounder, the better passer, and the better defender by a wide margin, while they are equal on almost every statistic that I haven't aforementioned in this sequence

This deal is great now, we have to provide spacing from at least one position.

Starting either Cody or VonBosh would tank our PO chances.

This deal also gave us leverage over Lance that we didn't have with Hayward.

This signing just doesn't make much sense. Marvin makes sense as a player, but I just don't know why Cho (who by all accounts has done a good job with contracts in his time here) decided to toss that much money at him. Even if it's just for two years, I'm having trouble understanding it.

 Pardon me, I had to laugh at that

Wait until you see Marvin Williams then because he won't fair any better. Williams has been a net negative player in 6 of his 9 seasons (and 5 of the 9 teams were winning teams) in the NBA

If Marvin Williams have a decent tenure in Charlotte, I want for the entire board to ridicule me as not knowing a thing about basketball

My best friend was a Atlanta Hawks fan during the years they had Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Al Horford, Mike Bibby, and even Jamal Crawford, and I was force-fed to watch several of their games on occasion. I remember Marvin Williams vividly, and he didn't get any better upon leaving Atlanta in Utah
