If Lithuania is not going to be occupied by Russia for the next 5 years, they are going to have monstrous front court. They already have NBA starters Valanciunas, Motiejunas. They also have very interesting and talented young man Arturas Gudaitis. And two NCAA players Sabonis, and double double machine Egidijus Mockevicius

Lack some backcourt power though. Lithuania is really bad at developing guards, most of their point guards can barely dribble... Need to get some pointers from Slovenia (Dragic, Lakovic, Becirovic, Udrih, etc.)
At least Lukas Lekavicius doesn't look all that bad...

He looks very spry and decisive, with an excellent touch and great rebounding. Only 6'10 though, and will need to add weight to bang in the NBA. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Valancunias and lose all his athleticism when the mass is added.

frontcourt>>>backcourt.
Thats why Lituania is number 4 in FIBA rankings. They always have very strong frontcourt.

I really like the way he is playing. Hope he can make it high in 2016 draft (I assume he will be there next year).
BTW. I have watched just a couple of GU games this season ... What you guys think of Karnowski? I think they are paired well and I saw some good plays between him and Sabonis.

Sabonis just made the Lithuania's roster for Men's EuroBasket.

Veeery nice to see him take and make his jumpers. Kid just looks ideal for the modern NBA. Good IQ/Quick feet/can shot/excellent rebounder. Cherry on the top is that he's a high energy, hustle player and seems to have passion for the game just like his old man. If he plays up to his potential, he’s a lottery pick, and I wouldn’t be too surprised if he ends up being the steal of the draft. Still early of course, but very excited to watch him grow.

He has been putting up big numbers so far, something like 18 pts , 10 rbs and 1.5 assts per game on a 65% shooting.
Could he go up as high as top 10 if he keeps this up? baring in mind that hes not very bouncy...

I'm confident he has a high IQ and can become an effective stretch PF in the NBA, but the question is, can he be a good to elite NBA defender like a Draymond Green or Pau Gasol.
If his defense can be effective in the NBA, i think he can be a boarderline all star, if not, i think he could just be a quality #5 for a team.

Green as a ceiling for this kid imo. He’s super smart, rebounds like his life depends on it and has a friggin never ending motor on court. Very Green like I’d say in the motor rebounding part, not nearly the playmaker, but again IQ is a part of that and he has it. Will take some time to develop, but if his jumper becomes consistent he will be a great player.

Re: Domantas Sabonis (Son of Arvydas ex-Blazers) Gonzaga
All the criticism on Sabonis is fairly accurate.
Average athleticism & average wingspan --- sounds like the Nuggets' rookie Jokic and he's doing pretty good, as have others
FT shooting needs to improve --- that's nice, Shaq, Jordan, Drummond, Howard could all improve, but they're OK
midrange jumper isn't great --- how many bigs don't have a great midrange jumper and do great, a LONG list
not a shotblocker --- how many bigs are not great shotblockers and they seem to survive, another LONG list
Basketball IQ seems abundant with Sabonis and that's worth more than any of the above - in most people's opinions it is the results that count

Young Domas with another impressive performance in a blowout vs Portland, going 2/2 from 3-point land. With his dad watching. 8/11 from the field. Kid is going to be good..

Domantas destroyed Poetl in March Madness.. As expected. Zagz mopped the floor with Utah. So far so good.

Domantas has looked REALLY impressive IMO in the tournament. His footwork and his tenacity in-game are to die for and the fact that he's getting more comfortable shooting from 3 is an encouraging sign.
There's no way he shouldn't be in the top 10 this draft (although I'd LOVE for him to fall to the Pistons).

Ha, ha,...Sabonis is an excellent player and the Zags definitely got the better of Utah and Poeltl. But there's not one NBA team that wouldn't pick Poeltl over Sabonis in the draft.
