Knicks fans are used to sorrow so no need to diss our horrible luck. I'll call in the Cavs fans to help us with these Olynik boys from beantown lol

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
I called Lakers moving up to #2 or 3, so that was kind of cool seeing it happen.
I felt a little bad for the Knicks when they fell to 4, then I kind of mentally laughed since it felt like the lottery was rigged. Of course the oft-mismanaged Knicks don't get to pick first.

I think after a couple years, the knicks will have the last laugh about this.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
lol at Celtics fans getting cocky. Making playoffs in East doesn't mean squat.
And Knicks fans, don't just assume Phil is going to keep the pick. Phil is 70 years old I don't think he wants to wait 3 or 4 years to watch a group of young guys develop. Big men are able to impact the game right away, so he definitely would've kept a top 2 pick. But 4th is not a sure thing.
Oh, and I wouldn't get my hopes up on Mudiay either. Even though the Lakers only had very late picks under Phil's tenure, he used to drive us nuts for taking the best "triangle fit" over the more athletic, high-ceiling players. Mudiay is a big guard, which Phil loves, but he's ball dominant, which the triangle hates. The 2 Euros, Hezonja and Porzingis might be better fits in the triangle.
Laker fans thought we'd be picking 4th or 5th, so for the last few months we've been pouring over the guys who are going to fall in that range. There were only a few fans sprinkled on various websites who wanted Mudiay at 4. Too little is known about him and his numbers versus inferior competition didn't stand out at all. There were clips of him struggling to drive around Sun Yue and Stephon Marbury (yes, that Marbury). The general consensus seems to be that he's the Dante Exum of this draft: an overseas player who we don't have much film on, overhyped and likely a long term project. He's not a surefire star.
Take Winslow and be glad you did. He's probably the most NBA ready and he actually plays defense. Don't worry about fit. Take BPA.

I would have been happy with just keeping the pick, but the result was even better.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Same here. I was elated when I saw the KIngs logo on the card at 6. And then it got better when the Knicks fell to 4.
My Lucky Hat was the reason for that

I didn't expect the Kings to move so I tried not to get my hopes up. I got angry when they revealed the Lakers weren't the 4th pick tho.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
It was anti-climatic for me. The only drama was from New York and the Lakers switching places in the draft order. I mean, this is the first year that I can remember where all the lottery teams will select exactly where they should based on win-loss record.
No team in the lottery should be upset except for New York and I don't believe the fourth pick is awful. Besides, you'll still have your choice of either Emmanuel Mudiay, D'Angelo Russell or Justise Winslow. No, they aren't Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns but you can still male an attempt to sign DeAndre Jordan or Marc Gasol.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
I was wondering if the losses of picks one, two, and three counted against Phil Jackson's record for last season, or this coming season.
Then, I was looking for injured players to take with the #3 pick.
Then, I was thinking about how many Lakers fans are going to start posting about "Towns/Okafor + Kobe + Aldridge/Gasol" for the the next month and a half.
Then, I was thinking about Minnesota selecting a player who wasn't alive when KG was drafted - and, I was hoping KG would come back next season to play with him.
And, finally, I found myself thinking that the Northwest could be a scary division next season.

because he had the least exposure of the other 3 prospects because 1. He didn't play college ball 2. He got injured so he only played 12 games. If you had followed the Knicks board then you would know that Mudiay, Towns, Okafor were the big 3 then Russell came out of nowhere and made it a big 4 players with star potential.
Most knick fans regarded this as a 4 person draft, trust me.
and you now get the leftovers. nobody is saying the 4th pick is terrible, its just hillarious because knick fans talked about the #1 all year long - and the lakers get it :hahahaha
We ALL knew all along that the Lakers were going to move up. Unbelievable.

I was a little happy for a friend who is a Lakers' fan, but overall I had no strong feelings about the lottery itself.
That said, it's been pretty funny to see so many Celtics fans get worked up over a draft that doesn't concern them, only because so they're so emotionally invested in the Knicks' and Lakers' misery.

It's certainly possible. Especially in this draft - an electric perimeter player is almost certain to be available, just a question of making the right pick. Great players slide through the cracks every year. Everybody knows who the best players are now, but 5 years from now, nobody will be shocked if the best player from this draft is Stanley Johnson or whatever.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
Despite my team not moving up, I was ok with it. I'm glad that for once people, except for Knicks fans, don't have anything to complain about because the draft order stayed basically the same except for the Knicks and Lakers switching spots. I'm happy for the Wolves finally getting the #1 pick for the first time.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
Thought it was crappy that of all the teams to move up it had to be the Lakers.
And yet again the Nugs didn't get a break, but that's to be expected.

I thought it was weird how everything held up how it was suppose to up until the top 5, which wasn't all that out of order. But happy how it ended up.

Re: How did you react to the Lottery?
I did not really care for it but glad Minnesota got the top pick. I think they will finally build a winner. They already have an underrated player in Rubio who will be perfect for the youngsters if he can stay healthy. That might be a big if considering the last two and a half, three years.
