Melvin Ejim Waived :(

Poor Melvin got waived by the Magic. Not only did I think he performed well, but the chemistry (if any) between him and fellow Canadian FIBA teammate Andrew Nicholson is now gone. I actually wonder if this is a precursor to AN44 being traded....

I don't think a D-League player being waived means that Drew is gone, I think that Skiles has presumably kept him as a bench warmer is a sign that Drew could be gone.

Also, I had some Doritos last night. If we could get that in a trade for Nicholson, and maybe a Mountain Dew I'd consider it a STEAL on our end. Sadly, I don't see anyone making such an offer. I'd just cut him in that case.

Orlando signing a player and waiving him allows the team to pay more than a D-leauger Max deal. That was the point of this season all along.

Hopefully Ejim catches on with another team. But then, he doesn't really do catching. Between him and Egwu I'm not sure either could catch a cold.

(Disclaimer, I am basing this off the tiniest of sample sizes since I've barely been able to watch preseason, but I couldn't resist a good dad-joke).

Its important to know about drew... the only thing he really excels at is scoring on the block. doesnt defend, pass, tweener size, plodding slow, shooting has fallen off. I guess theres the appeal that he was a physics major and so hes obviously good at math but what good is that on a bball court?

I can't pretend to remember all of the other scrubs but Greg S. Appling and Siva had to go, and I do understand melvin being cut. I would have rather kept him and shipped out Frye somehow; wishful thinking yes, but I think he'd be worth more in the long run.

C'mon Man. You know he's improved over the summer with defense, boards, and even shooting. He's in better shape than before physically and if skiles actually coaches him, he'll be a monster bench player.

C'mon Man. You know he's improved over the summer with defense, boards, and even shooting. He's in better shape than before physically and if skiles actually coaches him, he'll be a monster bench player.

Ive watched him the last three seasons. He may be a rhythm player in that he would excel if given time but we dont have the time for him anymore.
