What do you mean lead to lol?
The whole "Lean In" campaign/commercial which comes on at least 5 times during every game is not enough?

You right.. Now that I think about it... Adam Silver probally used the campaign to get ahead of any potential negative press from this case. Since he must have known that this would become a thing at some point during the season

Re: NBA sexism lawsuit
just to be specific, this man's lawsuit against the NBA alleges that he was unlawfully fired from his job as a senior security officer in retaliation for reporting some pretty serious complaints from female coworkers about harassment (including management using cameras to spy on them, displaying pornography on office computers, and verbal harassment and intimidation.. for example).
so the NBA isn't getting sued because of these photos. they are just evidence supporting this man's allegation that the NBA nurtured a culture of sexism.
this was a guy making six figures whow orked for the NBA for over 10 years. one month after receiving a golden watch and a congratulatory letter from David Stern on his decade of service to the Association, he was canned. about 18 months earlier he had cooperated with a federal court proceeding in which he had been deposed to testify by the legal counsel for a female employee-- who had functioned as this man's administrative assistant-- who had reported sexual harassment over a three year period working for the NBA. he reportedly testified that an NBA executive (a named defendant in this case), when informed of this man's assistant's complaints, said, " “If she doesn’t like it, she can quit. One monkey don’t stop no show.” after testifying by deposition, this man was allegedly told by the NBA executive: " “It’s all your fault, You testified for your girl.’’
who knows if it's true. but the allegations are more serious than "they used these images and i think they're in poor taste."

Christ, the authors of that article need to fall out of love with their own writing and lay off the basketball puns.

Bill Burr sums all of this non-sense up pretty well.
Men are in their natural relaxed state when they watch sports. Women are completely jealous of this zen and seek to destroy the sporting experience.
Prime example in the NBA: this stupid lean on campaign. Nobody watching NBA basketball gives a flack about doing more work at home to let women do...whatever it is they are doing. Like, this is such a superficial and insignificant issue, and what little importance it might has is totally unrelated to sports and the people who like sports.

i don't know. it mattes to me. i'm not convinced that women earn a significantly less compensation for doing the same work, but i would definitely admit they do significantly more housework than men. on the other hand, that's a problem between me and my priest. the NBA can mind its own business.
i'd rather they fund commercials about how awesome girls sports and are and spend money in support of girls youth basketball. then maybe in 30 years WNBA fans will have a better product and they wil look back at britney griner the way we look back at george mikan
also, the lakers suck.

Bingo, that is the real issue. Unfortunately the NYDailyNews is among the worst at quality journalism, as it is too focused with receiving views, but there certainly is a legitimate concern to be addressed. I personally have not delved far enough into the case to make a definitive statement on my opinion, but I am leaning towards stating that the truth is being told in this case.

If the case was as petty as the NYDailyNews is making it look, I would be the first person to state that this is a severe overreach of government trying to enforce good-manners, but it is more complicated than that.

For some reason, I thought the lawsuit was gonna be about how there are no women playing in the NBA.

Obviously, and with this being a thread on sexism I'd have thought it'd be obvious that it was tongue-in-cheek

That, and that this is RealGM, is pretty much why I didn't give you the benefit of the doubt.
