Agree. In my opinion Indiana is the most overrated team in this thread.

I am half way into my analysis work, it shows Utah's overatedness is beyond Indy. We'll see.

I may be a huge homer, but I think the Raps finish with a better regular season record than the Cavs. Cavs only improvement will come from Kyrie, with everyone else getting a little older and slightly worse, plus championship hangover and Lebron sitting out a bunch of games to save himself for the playoffs. Raptors outside of Lowry are young and will improve all over the roster organically + Demarre will hopefully be healthy. I don`t know whether Sullinger is an improvement over Biyombo or not, more minutes and a great fit offensively while Bismack was a perfect defensive fit. I think that all can add up to more than the one game that separated them this year. (plus Toronto may not want to rest guys as much as last year and actually go for the #1 seed to get HCA in the ECF.

(Also, having the Nets, 6ers and Knicks in the division helps a lot)

I got the Knicks top 5. Bulls needed 3pt shooting (would have loved guys like Melo/KP) Knicks need penetrator and leader (Noah and Rose fit the bill). Turns out the ideal combination of players converged in NY. Add a 3 and D guy like Lee and we can certainly make noise. Knicks were on track to playoffs before Melo went down with a trainwreck of a team. Now there are concerns about injusry but even with a few injuries the Knicks have a starting 5 that can maintain (Rose/Lee/Melo/KP/Noah) much better than last years abomination (Jose/Aflalo/Melo/KP/Lopez). There's no real dropoff in bench when we were throwing guys like Amundson and Seraphin in the mix.

1. CAVS
2. CELTS
3. KNICKS (49 wins)
4. RAPS
5. PACERS
6. PISTONS
7. BUCKS
8. HORNETS

The thing is - you can make an argument like this for most teams in the east. What you're describing is the Knicks upside, not their projection. They also have a downside if Rose gets hurt or continues to just not be very good. Same with Noah. I think they're with a bunch of other teams that will fight for the last spot or two.

Sure. You can predict Rose goes down. You can predict Melo and/or Noah goes down. But much of these predictions I'm seeing puts the Knicks in 10-13th place which assumes many of these guys go down at the same time for a long time. We have a team with arguably the 2nd/3rd best starting lineup and many here predicting the worse case scenarios. We'll likely fall in the middle 4-6 range yet I make my prediction based on a few injuries (maybe Rose at some point and Melo as well) but with guys like Noah/Lee/Jennings/KP filling roles where Derrick Williams, Galloway and Sasha Vujacic, OQuinn were never capable of doing after the losses to key starting lineup players. This total collapse of the Knicks, just as with any team, is possible but total disaster realm something not being factored to many of the other teams here .

A marginal improvement would put us at about 50 wins, which was good enough for the 3rd seed last year. And odds are Jefferson barely plays with Ellis and Young. He's coming off the bench.
