Interesting
Mychal Kendricks - LB - Eagles
The Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski believes "the Eagles will continue to seek offers for" LB Mychal Kendricks.
The Eagles and 49ers were reportedly close to a deal during the combine, but the trade never materialized. After the draft, EVP Howie Roseman said he "fully anticipate(s)" Kendricks will remain with the team, but Kempski thinks Roseman is simply posturing to convince other teams Kendricks will not be available for free in August. Still just 26 and a quality player when used correctly, it is surprising the Eagles have had this much trouble moving Kendricks even with a somewhat bloated contract.

I wonder why he's not sticking...was he a liability in coverage? I remember thinking he was going to be another Borland type player.

He was awful against the run and a big liability there. I was hoping to at least see him get a chance on pass rushing downs since pretty much no one else on the 49ers could generate a rush from that position. But he might just be another preseason wonder who shines in preseason games but disappears when the games start counting against better talent. Heck, even Tank Carradine looked good in the preseason

FYI:
Yesterday marked the end date for which signings can affect compensatory picks. Any FA signed from now on will not affect future compensatory picks.

Alberto Riveron named NFL senior VP of officiating
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000807595/article/alberto-riveron-named-nfl-senior-vp-of-officiating
This is pretty funny as he's always been one of my least favorite officials because it's felt like that in comparison to other officials he's had some of the most maddening calls or non-calls that went against the 49ers in some of the games he's done for them.
DISCLAIMER: I have ZERO idea that if you were to do a study if he actually would be one of worst graded officials who have done 49ers games over the past decade nor am I necessarily saying I think he's the absolute worst NFL official out there. Clearly his grades over the years do not suggest that in the eyes of the NFL. All I'm saying is that it gave me a bit of a chuckle because it's felt like over the years he's been one of the most maddening officials when it comes to 49ers specific games. I'm also not implying anything in combination of his new title, the 49ers, and anything that might happen in the future as that would be one of the stupidest things a fan could do but I still feel the need to point that out in today's world of dumb statements and fans.

I wanted them to keep Rush in a pure pass rush role, just to see what he could do in the regular season as we weren't exactly stacked at the position. I don't think the Borland comparison is necessarily a fair one to him, as Borland had truly subpar measurables. Rush was a bit undersized, but not dramatically so at 6'2 1/4" and 250 pounds. HIs arms are on the shorter end (32 1/2", I think), but longer than guys like Charles Harris and Derek Barnett. And his athletic numbers were actually very impressive, especially his three-cone and short shuttle, which would have been the best and third-best at the combine for DL this year. But he may just be overmatched when playing against elite athletes at OT.

I was high on this kid last year as a very late round prospect / sleeper pick. I don't even think Baalke bothered to send someone to scout this kid:
Rico Gathers - TE - Cowboys
Cowboys second-year TE Rico Gathers says he feels his game is "a thousand times better" than during his rookie offseason.
A power forward at Baylor, Gathers flashed during his rookie preseason and then on the scout-team offense with Tony Romo in late-season practices. Inside the locker room, 6-foot-6, 290-pound Gathers has earned the nickname "Zeus," while ex-TEs coach Mike Pope reportedly told Gathers he would "one day become a Pro Bowl tight end." As Jason Witten is now 35 years old, Gathers is a deep Dynasty league prospect worth monitoring.

Chris Ballard - G - Colts
Colts hired Jets director of college scouting Rex Hogan as VP of player personnel.
The Colts also hired Morocco Brown (director of college scouting), Kyle Childress (college scouting coordinator), Brian Decker (player personnel strategist) and Ed Dodds (co-VP of player personnel). Hogan had been with the Jets since 2015. He also has a history with new GM Chris Ballard. Hogan and Ballard spent nearly a decade working side-by-side as college scouts for the Bears.

Former Pats OT Sebastian Vollmer says he plans to retire

One of the more likable Patriots in a long time IMO. Liked him a lot coming in so that helped tolerate his ascension once he got there.
