Hmmn. Not a fan at first, but then Bustin Loose had me bouncing, so, it had me reconsidering. Then I think I kinda like the potential.
Like: if they find a way to make every halftime a party if they use this as a sandbox to try out new ways to reinvogorate the fan experience then great. The current soundtrack and vibe at Wizards games is tired and stale. People only get fired up for the free chicken sandwich. Here the team has an opportunity to experiment with entertainment, and try out new talent on court and off and make innovative coaching hires etc.
Looking forward to having our own team. Should be interesting too as a venue to find new talent especially tapping into the DC PG Baltimore pipeline.
A 4000 seat arena should have an intense jolt of energy when full and if the crowd is into it. If you have pre- and post- game concerts you can encourage fans to get there early and stick around, I'd love to build the same level of excitement and loyalty that the DC United squad gets in the stands.

And while I still kinda hate the team logo the secondary logo is pretty badass (music note imposed over DC map)

A pretty sweet Friday for the Wizards org, quality win and nice to finally see Washington add a D-League team. Double plus positive with the nod to DC culture on the naming.

The story references a nod to the Capital City Bullets which I don't recall at all, just the one season as the Capital Bullets.
I like the proximity to Berry Farms courts. I'm guessing mayor Bowser had to give away the farm to get Leonsis to commit.

Im excited that the name actually means something that people in this area can relate too. I agree with you all that the potential is huge for the community and not only for the team, not having to send prospects to other G-League teams to play under another teams system. The secondary logo, better than the original but its great. Can't wait to go to a couple games

Love it!
Go go hit the scene fast and beautifully when I was in high school in Silver Spring.
Whenever I hear that go go beat, I’m home.

I'm just really happy they have their own G-League team now. Maybe they'll stop selling off 2nd round picks and start developing players.

Minor squabble about the Go-Go logo that sort of applies to the Wizards nod to the old Bullets uniforms, I don't really care for the navy blue in the logo.
I'd much rather they had went back to the Bullets true blue.

In an interview with Ted, leonsis described how forth coming drafts could be up to 4 rounds and how that the g-league can be used for development purposes...
In my head however, I was thinking this is going to give him 3 opportunities per year to acquire cash considerations.

Maybe they thought 2nd round picks were overvalued compared to UDFA.
Think if the NFL draft was only 3-4 rounds. I wouldnt mind trading those 3rd/4th round picks for cash or other incentive if I knew all the players that would be UDFA's. But because their are 7 rounds, those picks carry more value.
If the NBA adds another round, maybe that changes the value of 2nds as you can no longer get as good of a UDFA pool.
Just a thought.

The upcoming NBA G League Expansion Draft is scheduled for August 22, league sources tell 2 Ways & 10 Days. Unlike previous years where multiple teams will partake due to massive expansion, only one team will utilize the expansion draft to build their roster, the Capital City Go-Go, affiliate of the Washington Wizards.
