I don't see how you can be high on Jessup without being high as well on LaMelo. My main concern with LaMelo was that his play in the Australian NBL might not give an accurate representation of how a player would translate to the NBA.
The rumor is that the Warriors were going to draft LaMelo and changed their mind last moment.
There's a video of LaMelo on draft day saying "I'm going number 2". Probably he was promised to be picked by the Warriors.

Shooting looks to be NBA quality. Can he do anything else and/or not be a major defensive liability?

You guys do know that when Lamelo was playing in Australia that JJ was playing at Boise State?

but on the topic of JJ, that shot is a thing of beauty, I'm surprised his %'s aren't higher.

Jessup really struggled in the second half of the season. I'm curious as to what the reasons are for that and if which version of him is the ‘real’ one we can expect next year.

Frankly the hype on this guy from this forum has been out of hand for a SRP that played overseas. If he turns out to be as useful as Anthony Morrow that will be a win

Personally, I'd be happy with a good and reliable spot-up shooter off the bench. I'm not looking for (or expecting) the second coming of Klay.

Basically Mulder with some effort on defense is a win.

An Australian I keep up with that's a Warriors fan says Jessup was playing through injury and got moved on-ball during that slump stretch.

I think Mulder ended the season near 40% from 3, but man I swear he rarely hits one that matters. So I generally don't view him as a valuable 3 point shooter.

Jessup will need to be much better from 3 with more versatility (relocate 3s and shots around the arc rather than just in the corner) and significantly better defense than Mulder if he realistically wants to be a valuable part of our rotation.

Mulder should not be on the roster next year. He's poor man's Damion Lee and Damion is a 10th man.

Very positive review: ;ab_channel=HoopReportsHoopReports

Can Jessup become the Warriors version of Manu Ginóbili? I did not get to watch much of the kid in college; while his shot looks great, does anyone have a scouting report on how he plays defense?

Ginobili was a freak, one of the most talented guards to come to the NBA from outside the US.
Jessup just doesn't have that kind of talent.

Manu is so underrated. You don't have to go much further than Kobe and Wade to get to Manu as the top SG's of that era.

If Jessup can get to the level of a Garrison Mathews, Damion Lee, Anthony Morrow type of rotation player, that is a massive win.

Agree on Manu being underrated. Of all the players on the Spurs...he was the won that always came up with the game winning possessions against us :((((( Hated him!

Manu was an all-time great player who accepted coming off the bench. There is essentially no way Justinian sniffs his level.

If he can shoot and play a decent team game on both ends then he can make the roster, and it looks like that is possible.

Manu's ballhandling, passing and general bball IQ are on another level, compared to Jessup.

If Jessup manages to peak at 50% of Manu's abilities, we got ourselves a really amazing steal.

I heard he is coming over for Summer League. I guess we will see how it works.

I see Jessups trajectory in the Kyle Korver mold.

Return to Golden State Warriors
