Arsenal's biggest ever transfer window outlay - around £145m.
- Ramsdale (£24m)
- Lokonga (£15m)
- White (£50m)
- Odegaard (£30m)
- Tavares (£8m)
- Tomiyasu (£16m)

Feel like Spurs had a much better window if they wanted to go the route of purchasing young talent.
Paratici came in and swindled Gil, Romero, Sarr, Emerson and would have pulled Moriba and Kounde if they had more pull.
Must be nice having a world class D.O.F

Leicester and Arsenal battling for mid table mediocrity after 5 matches. Where will we both be at season's end?

After watching the Arsenal match this weekend. Ramsdale was decent but not elite or the level that Arsenal are used to. Lokonga is young but in the few minutes he played looked very exciting. White was dominated too much and Tavares wasn't on long enough to evaluate.
Arsenal clearly have a lot of good young players but is that going to help them this season? If they don't make it to Europe then there will be a change of manager and philosophy and many of the young players won't be at Arsenal long term. I'm not sure Arsenal have the correct mix of vets and youth for the stature of the club they are. it'd be fine at Leicester or Brighton or Norwich but not Arsenal.

As I've been saying there seems to be a definite link between Xhaka playing and Arsenal losing. Come back soon Granit.

If they make the CL next season the additional TV money should cover it right?

Yeah the no european football and the bloated wage bill and lack of commercial progress has hurt us in recent years. Hopefully we stabilize and get back into the green. Cut a lot off the wage bill in the last year or so. Hopefully turning a corner soon

Glad to see this thread still exist.
So close, yet so far away. 5 points behind Manchester City for the title. Pretty good for one of the youngest teams in the Prem. After last season, expectation was to finish 4th, 3rd at the highest. They exceeded that, having the lead for most of the season. Punch to the gut to not win it. No doubt the Saliba injury had a huge impact, an impressive first season for him after spending a couple years on loan. Jesus had the hot start, but the injury from the WC really slowed him down. Odegaard, Martinelli, and Saka had very good seasons, though the latter 2 had some inconsistent moments down the stretch.
On to the summer. Undoubtedly, the biggest summer of the Arteta reign. Have to think the back stays the same (White, Saliba, Gabriel M., Zinchenko), they'll likely look for depth at the fullback positions and may look for another CB. Midfield is the big question, outside of Odegaard. I would think they attempt to sign 2 starting midfielders. Xhaka looks to be sold to Leverkusen. The last 2 seasons have probably been the best Xhaka has played for Arsenal. Partey might be going elsewhere, may be staying. Jorginho is another older player, but I think he's a good fit for a backup rotation piece. Not sure I'm a fan of the Gundogan rumors, just again, given the age of some of the players in the 6/8 roles (Partey if he stays, Jorginho, and Elneny is still under contract). We'll see what happens.

So, Caicedo, Rice and Cancelo are the most notable rumours as of late.
Would welcome them very much to the club.
Interesting to see if there's any talks about a striker.
