Re: 2022 off-season thread
5 other teams as of now need a new coach.
anyone got any gm/coach candidates they like?
haven't really looked but all i want is two different people. not the same person doing both jobs

Re: 2022 off-season thread
Brian Flores seemed to overachieve with Dolphins the last 2 years and still got fired. I don't know much about him though, whether he would be a good candidate.

I believe all the talk is that he is an ass and none of the players liked him.

Re: 2022 off-season thread
some coaching candidates now (i suppose they would want the gm to have some say, so maybe these are getting to know you interviews while the gm hiring is also taking place?)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles
Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon
Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett (UPDATE: This interview was conducted on Sunday, 16 January.)
Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore
Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell
Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn
San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans
any names that jump out at anyone?

Re: 2022 off-season thread
think they are looking for an offensive coach after zimmer?
or a defensive coach since the defense was terrible this year, and the offense is already pretty good

Re: 2022 off-season thread
Kansas City Chiefs Executive Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles
Cleveland Browns Vice President of Football Operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
those are the front runners and will be getting in-person second interviews next week (tues and wed)
i heard some commentary on the radio, polar opposite backgrounds.
poles is a former olinemen, turned scout
adofo-mensah is an ex-wall street ivy league grad
so whoever the choice is will tell a lot about which direction the wilfs want to go

Re: 2022 off-season thread
I was hoping Mike McDaniel would've slipped in for an interview. I think he is going to end up being the super hot name for head coaches in a year from now.
Out of the list of people they've interviewed so far, I would side with Kevin O’Connell. I think we are currently closer to having an elite offense than having an elite defense, so I would rather have a coach hired to push the offense to the next level. And there has been nothing about GB's or Dallas offense that make me feel like there is anything special going on there.
I really like McDaniel because he has been learning from Shanahan and I like the versatility of Shanahan's play calling (especially when Shanahan has a QB he trusts). Same goes for Kevin O’Connell, he has been under McVay and I like the versatility they have in that offense.

Re: 2022 off-season thread
gm is probably going to be Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, they are interviewing him right now. and the bears hired poles, who they were going to interview tomorrow. no more finalists, unless its back to the drawing board we have our guy

Sounds like it's official, I'd assume the HC will be decided pretty quick too, maybe another week.

Sounds like we’re interviewing Jim Harbaugh. Kind of interesting.
