I totally agree with what you're saying. But you look at where the Rockets were just 6 weeks ago, then you factor in they're still doing all this without their franchise center, and I think you have a special case.
You mean they've been doing some of it without Yao. The streak was at 12 games when Yao went out.

Paul may well get the MVP - but he may well also get too much credit for the improvement vs last year. A big problem for the hornets last year as injuries. SOme, but not all, of their improvement can be attributed to being healthy.

Great article on why Chris should be MVP.

Does that mean as a laker fan, you should never be able to say Kobe is the MVP?
It also doesn't make it unbiased.
And facts?
How do you quantify leadership? Can you unequivocally say that Paul's leadership is greater than the other candidates? I say no to that.

Looking at "steals" and equating it to just gambling is just as bad as those who look at steals and blocks and rank defense that way.
You gotta watch the games and youll see nobody plays the passing lanes better than Paul. I watched them against the Mavs and Suns..he forced Nash and Kidd into so many turnovers. He had them hesitating on passes, remember these are two of the greatest passers ever. He also stays in front of his man pretty well.
I dont think hes DPOY, but hes definitely making a big impact defensively.

Dirk was suspended and West was injured. They are kind of getting lucky here.
But it's coming down to Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant.
Lebron is just seriously losing ground because the team around him sucks and their record is suffering.

How do you "play" passing lanes?
Is that a good sound technique where you try ball denial and/or stay in front of your man and not allow penetration?
Or is that anticipating/cheating/shading when you say playing the passing lanes........

So the other 12 games don't count in his favor either?
21 games is 21 games.
How is Lebron doing without Z.......
They don't count as "doing it without Yao.......", which is what I was responding to.
As for LeBron, if only Z was the only player out....

Yao isn't the only guy missing on the Rockets and the Cavs can't even beat those teams under .500.....
