What moving did was enable Fish to spend more time with his daughter. Hey, that's great and important but it's not like his daughter wouldn't have got the same medical care if he would have stayed in Utah and played. It's not like his family couldn't have moved to LA or his daughter couldn't have flown to wherever she needed to go to get treatment.
Well he did what the best for his daughter. He has relatives living in LA so they can take good care of her. That alone is worth to move from Utah to LA.
Plus he gave up his big contract and signed a smaller one. I thought Utah fans would be relieved to get rid of the contract, but some of them just bitter that Fisher went to the rival team in the same conference.
