I seriously doubt that Bryant will be the beneficiary after the votes are counted. I mean, the man hasn't finished above 3rd in voting despite having some ridiculously good seasons so I'm pretty inclined to think that he is not the media's favourite...
I understand what she's trying to say, I just think that she's not using the best arguments.
More with less definitely doesn't apply to Paul. That was proven time and again. I do agree that he is a viable candidate, but not because of the stated. He didn't have his frontline missing for 20 games and has had the privilege to play with an intact starting lineup for 55 games. Bryant had to orchestrate 16 different starting line-ups in which only himself and Fisher were the constant, and hasn't played more than 14 games with the same one. How that can be overlooked when looking at the bigger picture is beyond me. Sure the Lakers roster looks fantastic on paper... the reality is that the players have missed over 160 games combined and that at the moment 3 of their starters are playing with injuries. And yet they remaing 1,5 games from the 1st seed and are in control of their own fates since they face both SA and NOH at home. That is impressive. Why is it hard to acknowledge that? If the majority of us, who pull for Kobe to get it and cheer for the purple and gold can compliment Chris Paul and the Hornets and their extraordinary season, why is it so hard for other people to say:"God damn, these Lakers sure are hangin' in there considering their ridiculous injuries." Is it... hate?
To sum up my pointless long rant; Chris Paul is great. He is a frontrunner for the MVP. He's having an awesome season with brilliant production and surprisingly leading his team to the 1st seed. He didn't do it alone or with little help though. To state that is blatantly skewing the facts. David West is an All-Star. Tyson Chandler is one of the best rebounders in this league. Peja is one of the deadliest shooters in league history. They've missed a combined 14 games.
