No way a Melo trade that makes sense. That's the best trade I've seen, congrats.

Forget Melo. . . I think Billups (consistent 3 pointer, defense for days, and a post game) would make the Lakers unstoppable. If the Lakers could obtain Billups without giving up one of Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, or Odom. . . Done deal.

I'd be hesitant to moving Artest, simply 'cause he's often proven his ability to slow down efficient scorers. However, Billups starting at the 1, and promoting Barnes to the starting 3. . . Dangerous.

Now, I know I haven't offered a plausible trade scenario. . . Just an opinion.

Being in Charlotte tomorrow and w / past Ron rumors to their.

G Wallace, S Livingston and Diop for Blake, Ron, Luke and trade exception and 1st rd pick.

Why for LA they get triangle point guard in Livingston 6-7, and playing well of late. Wallace just does a lot of everything, gets to the line, rebounds and just active with out the ball.

Why for Bobcats: Ron can play closer to rim w/ that team, maybe some power forward. Moving Wallace, Gerald Henderson can get some more minutes. The exemption sweetens the deal by letting Bobcats save 4 million this year and they get a 1st rd pick which right now is 25th. Blake for Shaun nothing major just a better outside shooter in Blake.

Augustine/blake
G henderson
Kwame, Nazr
Artest, Diaw, najara
S Jax, thomas, carroll

They aren't going to trade Wallace for Artest. I doubt anyone will trade for Artest this year. We don't have a 1st round pick this year because we traded it along with Sasha. If I were the Lakers I would try to trade for Kirk Hinrich or OJ Mayo but I don't know if we have the pieces to aquire either of those two. Its not impossible however as our GM did somehow steal Pau Gasol.

I'm all for trading Brown Shannon Brown for someone that can actually make plays. If were going to give a back up SG that much freedom to do whatever he wishes on offense I would much rather it be someone that can get the ball to an open man.

Here's our starting 5 after wrapping up a third title in three years and PJax riding off into the sunset...

Deron Williams
Kobe Bryant
Devin Ebanks
Derrick Caracter
Dwight Howard

;)

I was working, missed the game, but Pau vs. the Magic, 11/4/3/1 :curse:

Hmmm idk what to think about that lineup Dub lol. But if it were even slightly possible I'd take Paul over Williams. Ron Artest/Shannon Brown for Gerald Wallace/filler. Get it done.

Brown has a no trade clause because he signed a 1yr deal in a year he would get his Bird rights, so the Lakers can't trade him without him agreeing.

If Pryzbilla is available, he'd be the perfect back up for this team. I can't think of any likely trade scenarios, but he'd be a huge upgrade over extinction-nearing Ratliff and Smith.

What do you guys think about this trade................ :(

Lakers Out: Bynum
Lakers In: Melo

Sixers Out: Iggy, Hawes
Sixers In: Bynum

Denver Out: Melo
Denver In: Iggy & S. Hawes

Sixers get young nucleus to build around in Holliday, Turner, Bynum, Young
Lakers get an added scorer and new energy to the team
Denver gets to stay competitive with iggy, billups, nene, jr. smith,

Then Lakers made the following trade
Lakers Out: Artest
Lakers In: K.Brown, S. Livingston, D. Brown

Bobcats Out: K.Brown, S. Livingston, D. Brown
Bobcats In: Artest

Lakers Lineup

Fisher/Blake/Livingston
Kobe/S.Brown
Melo/Odom/Barnes/Ebanks
Pau/Odom/Smith/Character
Kwame/Pau/Ratliff

Crazy idea but I wanted to try!

Lakers in: Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony
Lakers out: Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher, Ron Artest, Luke Walton

Magic in: Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher
Magic out: Dwight Howard

Hornets in: Ron Artest, Luke Walton
Hornets out: Chris Paul

Denver in: Pau Gasol
Denver out: Carmelo Anthony

The Magic get an up-and-coming franchise center (arguably better than Howard) and a super clutch veteran leader that brings invaluable value to a team that lacks leadership and clutchness.

The Hornets get a former DPOY and one of the highest BBIQ players in the league, preventing them from losing CP3 for nothing since he's going to bail anyway.

The Nuggets get one of the most talented bigs in the game who can show them how to verbal flop to a few post-season wins. His championship experience is also a plus, and stuff.

The Lakers get a little bit of youth and athleticism.

Lol @ the Hornets part. Ron+worst contract in the league for CP3? I don't think we could even get carlos arroyo for that package.

i hear the sarcasm, the thing is though, that the dwight for bynum and melo for pau trades are actually plausible if they demand a trade.

pau was had for much less.

Oooh that's even better. Not sure why I didn't think of including Williams who I actually favor over CP3.

It even works in favor for the Magic according to Hollinger.

I actually do see the Lakers adding BOTH Howard and D-Willat next year's trade deadline ... however it looks like it will be after watching the Celtics hoist the title this year which sucks!

I see the Lakers trading Pau, Ebanks, #1 and cash to the Magic for Dwight (and maybe Chris Duhon).

I also see the Lakers trading Bynum, Blake, Caracter, #2 and cash to the Jazz for D-Will (and maybe Raja Bell)

The Lakers lineup would look as follows:

PG: Deron-Fisher-Duhon
SG: Kobe-Bell
SF: Artest-Walton
PF: Odom-Smith
C: Dwight-Ratliff

The above is a title winning lineup, though I also see the Lakers adding some vets (Kwame, T-Mac, Reggie Evans ... guys like that) and a decent 2nd round pick (Lacedarius Dunn would be great)

If we HAVE TO LOSE THIS YEAR to get that lineup next year, that is okay by me, but if I were Mitch I would trade Bynum and the t.p.e. for Melo and Chris Andersen as I think they could win a title with Melo this year ... and then trade Melo to the Kicks in a 3 way deal to land us either Dwight, D-Will or CP3 next year.
