It's not that he's not dominating. It's that he's been awful.

Are you a Jazz fan now all of the sudden?
i think exum is total fools gold. darko/vesely euro trash sucker draft bomb. i studied the kids hs games last summer and now watched him some this year. hes a nothing player. dealing for whatever his "upside" is with middleton would be terrible mistake imo.
then add that i wouldn't trade Henson for kanter straight up AND were the ones tossing in a #1 and this trade sucks balls for me. i hate it.

I remember a time when this board was all about rebuilding by getting super high upside young guys who have star potential. Now they are all about guys like Khris Middleton and dislike most young players that haven't already turned into studs.
Not that I dislike Khris Middleton. I think he's going to be a great role player unless he stops playing hard after he gets his deal or something... but Exum has the ability to be something special.

Not a chance. People need to slow their roll. MAYBE by Jabaris 3rd season, if everything goes well. The idea of the Bucks being title contenders next season is ludicrous.
We don't need to be, either

That "euro trash sucker draft bomb" was burying 3s in Knight's face weeks ago and that's his weakness coming into the league this year. Try again.

Based on what exactly?
He shot .286 from 3 this year with a .443 TS and he's only 14 months younger than Middleton, who is putting up .423/.574 currently with higher usage.
LUKE23 wrote:Middleton's production isn't a small sample. He's been an elite shooter for 130 games. This year, his D has been good all season. I realize people base a lot of their stuff on PPG/usage, but he's fully capable of being high efficiency with even more usage. He's already at .185 which isn't bad.

Not sure if this was addressed between pages 178 & 280 (I was forced to skip ahead) but losing his Bird Rights wouldn't be hugely significant for a team like us that will be expected to be operating with significant cap space. If his bird rights would be attached, our cap space would be even further reduced prior to signing him due to a larger cap hit.
We would not have the advantage of being able to offer an additional year and a higher annual raise, compared to other teams, but that would also be the case if we didn't trade for him and pursued him as an unrestricted free agent.
It is his UFA status that is the biggest deterrent for me as far as being comfortable giving up significant value in a trade to acquire him
How much cap space did you anticipate us having prior to the Sanders buy out?

I call it FTD syndrome. When you have a franchise with such little success over two plus decades, even the smallest sliver makes you drunk. In the past week now I've heard people say they wouldn't trade Ersan for Stauskas/Thompson (insisted we get an expiring) and now no to Middleton for Exum. My brain hurts.
